The room swims into view, a dark ceiling with people peering down at me. I recognise Aster and he grimaces at me. 

"Where am I? where are the others!" I say, they had already began to feel like family.

"They're all fine, except for the ginger boy, he got bit and we had to shoot him" Aster says solemnly. I sag, Peter, I was going to miss him. 

"You're in an army base, those people you saw at the house are Pitch and his followers, they reside in another army base and have been trying to let monsters in here ever since we took control" Aster says and sits down next to my bed, I sit up and see Mer lying on the bed next to me, still un conscious, her curly red hair spread across the stark white pillow. Me and Aster talk for a while, exchanging stories of how we got here.

"This place is called Berk, the found me in that town where Pitch was surrounded by a heard, they had a helicopter and saved me, then we tried to find you, Tooth North and Sandy. Obviously not all of you made it out alive" Aster says, he runs a hand through his unusual silver hair, he was young perhaps early twenties but had that dark grey hair of a much older man.

"Tooth is finding out information in this place, she went off with a blonde girl, they'll be back soon" Aster says. I nod my head and rest my head on the pillow. Across from me is a boy sitting up in bead reading a book, he's missing a leg and has a mop of unruly brown hair and freckles, he notices my stare and gives me a small smile. I'm about to say something when two girls run into the ward. 

"JACK! YOUR AWAKE!" Tooth screams and Rap jumps onto me, hugging me. 

"Why isn't Mer awake yet?" Tooth asks. Her short dark hair with its coloured highlights had been cleaned and her purple eyes looked worriedly at the ginger. 

"Aster, where is Anna?" I ask. 

"The one with the braids?" He asks.

"Yes the one with the braids" I answer back.

"She refuses to talk to anyone, we sent her to a unit, an official is staying with her incase she does something stupid" Aster says. So Anna was on suicide watch and Tooth and Rap were running around the base like crazy ladies and Mer was still unconscious. Great start.

"She's in real bad shape Jack, the official, his name is Kristoff has only gotten one word out of her, once Mer is awake we should go see her" Rap says. Her blonde hair had been cut shorter and a lot neater and hung around her face like a halo. 

"Where am I?" I hear a voice next to me, we all turn to see Merida sit up, I see the on legged boy opposite me stir and gives her a look full of longing, a twist of jealousy arises in me and I get out of my bed and sit next to Mer. She looks up at me with big blue eyes, for once they weren't guarded by her ferocious demeanour, she looked so innocent. 

"Jack where are we?" She asks again, looking around the room. I follow her gaze.

"An army base, it's safe here, we're a mess, Peter is dead, Anna won't talk" I say, Rap nods her head and sits on the other side of Mer, Tooth looks on with a worried expression on her face. 

"I wanna see Anna" Mer says before pushing her self up, she swings her legs down and try to stand up but crumples. I catch her and hold her up.

"Here are some crutches, they operated on your leg Mer, pretty bad it was infected" Rap says pointing to Mer's bandaged leg, its then I notice she's wearing a grey long sleeved dress.

"Why am I wearing a dress?" Mer asks, clearly puzzled looking down at her self.

"They ran out of clean hospital gowns so a lady called Snow gave you some of her dresses, since your so small only her clothes seemed to be small enough" Rap says laughing and Merida's expression.

"I'm just gonna pretend that never happened, lets go!" Mer says before hobbling forward with the crutches, stumbling as she goes. Tooth stops her and wheels out a wheel chair and pushes her into it.

"We're not going anywhere if you're gonna be that slow!" Tooth says and pushes the young woman away. Tooth was twenty five, Mer was sixteen. It's odd to think of the tough fighting girl as a teenager, I was turning twenty in the winter, and that was fast approaching. Peter had only been about fifteen or sixteen, Anna and Rap were about eighteen and Elsa was twenty one. Not many teens would've survived this. It was a miracle we mad it this far.

Tooth leads us out of the building and into the open. I could see the tall thick concrete walls surrounding us, when I was fourteen my parents took me to see the great wall of china, this was far more impressive. the walls were at least fifty metres high and around ten metres thick with men and woman stationed on top, turrets popping up every twenty metres or so. Machine guns have been placed along it and everyone seems to be carrying weapons of some sorts. Next to the walls surrounding us is stone buildings with barred windows, probably where troops sleep. The there were other larger buildings and then smaller buildings, the units. Rap leads us to unit number forty seven and knocks. A big blonde man answers the door, he must recognise Tooth and Rap because he lets us in. The unit has two bedrooms, a bathroom and a small living area and kitchen. Anna was sprawled on a couch, she wore a plain hospital gown that had dirty stains on it, big fat tears still rolling down her cheeks. She looked so broken, it was heartbreaking to see the normally bubbly girl completely out of energy.

"Anna are you alright?" Mer asks. She pushes her self to her feet and manages to stumble over t sit next to Anna.

"It wasn't your fault Elsa died" Rap says, bending down in front of Anna. I move to join them but a thumping on the door stops me. Kristof tenthly moves to open the door. standing in the door way is something I never want to see again.
