Isabelle's POV

Bestie: We're going back to hell next week! I've missed u too much b x

Me: U came round my place the  other day lol

Bestie: Still I haven't seen u in a while

Me: Ur coming round again today aren't u...

Bestie: I'm outside open the door

Me: Ur here already?!

Bestie: Just open the damn door Iz

I put my phone down on the desk and rushed down to open the door.

"About time, I'm freezing here!"

"Nice to see you too."

This was my best friend Madeline. We've been friends ever since nursery. We were inseparable when we were younger, we still were. One aspect of her personality that makes me love her so much is her honesty. If something has upset her, she won't hesitate to say so. If I've done something wrong, she'll tell me. This was what helped our friendship  stay strong after all these years.

"You look like a hobo."

Not to mention the fact that she doesn't sugar coat insults, she just says them without filtering the words first.

"Thanks, so do you."

"Touché."

A comfortable silence fell around us as we walked into my room. I smiled to myself at the newly painted snowflakes on my walls, they actually turned out to look pretty good.

"Your room looks a bit different." Maddy said as she plopped down onto my bed.

"A good different, or a bad different?"

"A good one."

"Nice to know that my room decor is Madeline-approved."

"I'll take that as a compliment."

"Whatever floats your boat."

I sat down on my spinny chair and turned around to face Maddy.

"Time to get down to serious business." I said, folding my hands in a manner which I deemed as professional and 'business like'.

"Yes ma'am!"

"Pizza or chinese takeaway?"

Maddy scrunched her face up in feigned confusion. "This is a difficult decision. Hmmm... I think we should go for pizza."

"Methinks so too!"

"Pizza it is then."

"Now, who's gonna pay?"

"What kind of question is that? We're gonna pay half each, duh!"

"Fair enough."

The pizzas ended up coming half an hour late so we got them for free. Free pizza tastes so good!

"Damn that was a good pizza." Maddy said as she finished off the last slice of her pizza.

"Couldn't agree with you more."

"Winter break finishes in a week."

"Yeah I know. Are you ready for school?"

She stayed quiet for a while before answering the question. "In all honesty, no. I don't think I can bare to see him again after what happened."

Pain contorted my friend's face. The unshed tears swelled in the brim of her eyes.

"Hey," I said softly, squeezing her hand reassuringly, "Madeline, look at me. You'll be alright, you're a strong person. You don't need to rely on some guy to make you feel happy. Justin was a douche anyways."
