The lectures were not done for the day when Mr Sainz left the classroom, but Leah for sure was. She looked at her watch and it was only 12.30, she still had another class until 2 and then she would be free. Well, free to go back home and deal with the assignments that were due the following week. She sighed and grabbed her phone. Bianca looked over her shoulder and shook her head as she read the texts she had received.Alan: call mw.
Alan: its lkww vrry urhentt
Alan: lee pleaze answrr thr pjone
Alan: ur just stupidf gfy
"Don't answer him" Bianca said sternly. "He's just playing with you again, Lee. You should have dumped him last week when he texted you drunk for the first time"
"I don't know, Bi" she muttered and bit her lower lip. The week before he had done exactly the same and ended up confessing he had cheated on her, but she decided to forgive him. Why? She didn't know even. They had decided to continue their relationship although there were quite a lot miles between Seattle and Madrid. She missed him, of course, but he didn't seem to feel the same way. "I love him..."
"You deserve something better, sweetheart" she placed her hand on her shoulder and hugged her friend when she was about to start crying. "Don't you dare to cry now after all the effort you put to look fine for Professor I'm So Hot And I know It" she chuckled and wiped one tear rolling down Leah's cheek. "Do you think he's married? It would be so hot to have an affair with a married man, don't you think so?"
"Oh, come on" Leah grinned. "Stop thinking about him! He's your professor, you can't just go and fuck around with him"
"I've already told you, Mr Sainz is all yours" she looked at the front when Professor Ricciardo walked in, showing off his ever-present smile. "I'm happy if this Aussie mate takes me down and not exactly to visit Straya" she winked and smiled brightly as the lecture began.
When Mr Ricciardo was over, Leah stood up ready to leave the classroom. Bianca followed her outside.
"Are you going to talk to Alan?" she asked and Lee nodded, plugging in her earphones to the phone. "Please, Lee; don't be stupid. He is not good for you"
"I don't know... I-I'll see what I do" she replied in an unsure tone. Bianca sighed and kissed her cheek. She just smiled and made her way out of the campus.
Leah stepped out of the train putting on her sunglasses again. She could feel the tears rolling down her cheeks, but she was not very sure why she was crying. Perhaps, she thought, I'm afraid of facing Alan. Or was she afraid because she knew there was no turning back this time? She wanted to do what Bianca had told her, leave him and forget about Seattle and America for a while. But she didn't know if she was ready to do so.
She looked at her reflection in the lift mirror. Her ginger locks had lost the nice form they had that early morning and her blue eyes showed a very sad look, nothing to do with that bright one she had before. She laughed at her candidness as she opened the door. How could she ever think that Mr Sainz was going to notice her? He probably didn't even know her name. And now there she was, about to break up with the guy who a few months ago, she thought it was the love of her life.
She wasn't in the mood for cooking so she grabbed an apple from the fridge and turned her computer on. Alan said he was waiting for her, although it was seven in the morning in Seattle; and she saw him online once she had logged in in Skype. The income call didn't take long to appear.
"Leah?" hearing his voice made her heart skip a beat. She set the camera and sighed heavily when she saw Alan. He looked tired; he had a terrible hangover for sure. His dark curls were all messed up and his amber eyes seemed to be lost.
