After mucking the stalls, I figured I had some time before Arizona came. I saw my horse, Spirit, poking her head out of the stall. I pet her nose, then grabbed her bridle. I groomed her and put her bridle on. I took a large leap, and gave her a squeeze. She moved at a power walk. I asked for a trot, and we trotted briskly to the trails.
She transitioned into a smooth canter, and then a gallop. We went through the meadows, my long brunette hair flew wildly in the wind. Her tail streamed behind her. Her white and sorrel coat shined with sweat. Her hoofbeats left echos inside my head. We slowed down and I pulled out my phone. I saw that it was 11:30. "Shoot!" I say while turning around. Arizona was coming in 1 hour and I forgot to prepare her stall. We galloped back home.
By the time I got back and untacked Spirit, it was 12:15. I put in fresh water, straw, and feed. I heard a truck pull up into our driveway, with a trailer attached to it. It was Arizona.
I heard the frightened whinnies of a horse. I heard the metal being dented from her powerful kicks. I took a deep breath, and opened up the trailer. I didn't have a chance to move. The dark bay horse came charging at me. I snatched for her lead rope, and got it. Her eyes showed nothing but fear. She reared multiple time. During her last rear, her hoof knocked me on the head. I started to feel dizzy, and weak, but I managed to keep holding the lead rope.
I got her into her stall, and instantly she shied away to the back of the stall. This mare was going to be hard to reach..
Part two! I hope you liked it!
