I inspected Arizona's face. She had large, hard, round eyes, which showed her proudness and independence. she had a moose nose which showed her boldness. I need to learn more about her back story.
I ran outside to Arizona's owner. "I'll be the one caring for Arizona," I said while shaking her hand. "My name's Prim. What's yours?" I asked. "Maria Costas," she said. "I have one question," I said. "What put Arizona in this state?" Instantly her face turned deep red. "That's for me, and only me to know," she said strictly. Her face instantly turned into nothing but anger. "But ma'am, I need to know if you want me to reach h-" I said in my calmest voice, but she cut me off. "Good day Miss Primrose!" She said while turning on her heel. She stormed off to her car, and drove away.
I felt stumped. She just stomped off, not giving me a chance to ask about anything. I added some rock rose into Arizona's feed, then sat in Spirit's stall. I sat down, and thought about all of the possibilities. She could have been in an accident. Her rider might have been hurt while riding her, and it could have left her terrified of people. That one seemed to be correct, since not only Arizona was the one traumatized of her partner. Maria seemed pretty scared of talking about it, so that was probably right.
Before she knew it, it was 10:30 PM. She continue to just sit there, thinking of trying join up in the morning. "Good night Spirit," she said while letting out a yawn. She closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
The hairs of Spirit's muzzle tickled her in the morning. "Spiriiit," I giggled. The young mare was nuzzling me awake. I opened my eyes, and the sun beamed through the barn doors. I must have fallen asleep in her stall, I thought to myself. I realized it was 7:30. I jumped up instantly, feeling energized and ready for the challenges of Arizona. I grabbed her lead rope, and the mare was chewing on fresh hay. Jake and Clover must have already taken care of everything.
I walked into her stall, and the mare realized it was me and shied away. I held out a mint, and she hesitantly took a step forward. "That's it girl," I whispered. She lipped up the mints, and I slipped the lead rope on her. Her eyes flashed, and she started to buck and rear again. I calmed her down, and led her into the arena. I untied the lead rope, and sent her off..
How will join up go? Keep reading to find out! Anyways, should I start writing this from one of the horses POV, and which horse? Ty! Ilysm!! :)
