I See You

I see you,

Sitting on a bench

In the corner,

Head in hands.

I see you,

Gazing out the window,

Day-dreaming

Of times long past.

I see you,

Staring at the floor,

Swinging softly

In the park.

I see you,

Kicking up leaves,

A shower of gold

Like Autumn confetti.

I see you,

Alone with a book,

Drowning your troubles

With a sea of words.

I see you,

I need you,

To help you,

To hold you.

But my love

Is unknown,

Unseen,

Forbidden,

Forgotten.
