How I Was Wrong

I thought you loved me,

I thought we shared something special,

I thought you were my one and only,

Well that just proves me...

WRONG.

When you pushed me away,

Saying how sorry you were,

I thought you'd come

Crawling back some day.

I waited for hours,

That turned into days,

Then weeks.

I waited for years,

And when i returned to you,

your love was with another.

Not even a thought for me,

The one you promised 'forever'.

I walked home,

Alone.

You'd left me,

With only the TEARS.

Your cold heart chilled me,

To my soul.

I'd thought you loved me.

But that just shows,

How utterly

WRONG

I was.
