So I realized how ungrateful of a writer I am. 600 people took the time to read my story and I'm out here giving out ultimatums for votes.🙄I really had to humble myself and realize that I am not all that. Any way, I'm sorry that I was being stingy with my story, so here y'all go. And please forgive me for my ways. 🙏🏾 😩From now on I will end by asking for your votes and comments and I will refrain from withholding the story.

Aaliyah asking Jerome questions about his family had him on edge. He knew there was some animosity in the air but he didn't know it was so obvious.
He hoped that he could arrange for Aaliyah to meet his immediate family in the near future to rectify any wrongdoings that were done on their first date. That is why he was in the driveway of his parents one story home. Every aspect of the home was handicap accessible. Jerome smirked. His mom had to get around somehow.
Jerome watched the in-home nurse drive away before stepping out of his own vehicle. He retrieved the key from his pocket and opened the door. Hearing 90s R&B flowing from the kitchen, he quickly made his way to that part of the home and saw his father dancing around as he prepared dinner. Jerome watched for a while before speaking.
"Hey dad."
Dr. Vincent visibly and audibly froze before turning to his son. Fear flowed through the doctor and he went out of his way to create as much distance as he could between them.
"How did you get in here?"
"My key." Jerome said showing off the key on the ring.
"We changed the locks."
"When has that ever stopped me?"
Dr. Jerrold Vincent gulped, his Adam's Apple bobbing at the action. He looked around for an exit but knew that Jerome could grab him where ever he went. So he decided to talk to him in hopes that he'd move.
"Why are you here?"
"To talk about the family's behavior at the award ceremony." Jerome answered. "The tension really bothered my date."
"You shouldn't have come to the award ceremony. You're lucky the family didn't make a scene." My father said.
"Lucky?" Jerome scoffed. "You didn't make a scene because I had a guest and I don't like being embarrassed."
"I also know that you wouldn't out your little problem in front of all those people."
Jerome was surprised that his father was being fresh with him knowing the damage he could do.
"But behind closed doors my little problem, as you call it, has free reign."
"You need help."
"I know." Jerome smirked.
Jerrold looked away and shook his head as tears threatened to spill over.
"I should have known something was wrong with you when you cut your cousin's wrist." Mr. Vincent sighed.
Jerome walked around the kitchen as he rolled his eyes.
