A/N: just to clear up any confusion, this first part is in third person and takes place right after she passes out.

"Thomas, go lay her down in your room." Luda Mae said to her youngest son. The behemoth of a man picked up the young woman bridal style and carried her upstairs and to his room. Once he got there, he pulled back the covers with one hand and laid her down. He pulled the comforter back upto her shoulders and softly caressed her cheek.

"Mine." He lowely growled.

Once Hoyt had hid the truck he came back into the house. His shoes were slightly muddy, and Luda Mae was getting onto him about it.

"Why're we keepin' her? I thought she was gonna be our next meal!" Hoyt yelled.

"Damn it Hoyt! We been over this! That's Tommy's girl! You can't eat her. And the next time you track mud into my house, I'll throw your shoes away." Luda said as she mopped up the mud her son had dragged in.

"But why does he get a girl and I don't?" He whined like an injured puppy.

"Because you're only interested in those streetwalkers. You just ain't got that "family man" material." She answered. She smacked him upside the head for tracking the mud in and then put up the mop.

"But mama that ain't fair!"

"Ya wanna know what ain't fair?" She began. "Prayin' and beggin' the good Lord for a babygirl and instead I get you." Monty could be heard chuckling in the room next to them. "Although," she started again. She put her index finger to her chin and began to tap it. "You whine like a girl, so maybe the Lord did answer my prayer." She slyly smiled at her eldest son.

"Oh! Burn!" Monty yelled from the other room. "Shut the hell up Monty! What the hell made you decide to keep that little skank up there?" Hoyt was fuming at his mother.

"It wasn't my call. It was Thomas's. I was just gonna chop her up too, but she was so nice to him at the store. He wanted to keep her. I warned him that she looked like a fighter, but he wanted her anyway. Besides, he's young! He needs to start his own family. Ain't got much family 'round here no more."

Hoyt scoffed. "I'm young enough to start my own family too!"

"Oh please. You never stay with a girl long enough. You probably don't even know the definition of commitment."

"You're gonna turn that boy soft."
Hoyt turned his back and stomped up the stairs in anger.

Thomas came down the stairs a few minutes after Hoyt went up.

"Tommy, boy, you best take good care of your girl. I'd hate for her to run away on account of you not keepin a close eye on her." Luda warned. He waved her off as he walked towards the metal basement door.

"I mean it boy! Don't you be wavin' me off! I want grandchildren runnin' 'round here soon!" She yelled at him. He shook his head as he walked down the wooden basement stairs.

Luda sighed and went to her room. She had to get Kay out of those "unladylike" clothes and into a dress. She didn't know how much longer she could look at those damn shorts and band t-shirt.

A dim light flooded my vision as I attempted to open my eyes. My head was pounding and my limbs were throbbing. I groaned as I tried to sit up on the side of the uncomfortable bed. My whole body ached in protest. I began to wretch. Whatever food I had in my stomach from the night before bad spewed out of my mouth and onto the hardwood floor.
