The music from Holtzmann's lab was beckoning. Erin sighed, looking around the empty firehouse. It was late.
Erin, stood hearing the music grow louder.
Tiredly, Erin made her way to the stairs. Climbing them. The music from above became louder and louder as she approached Holtzmann's door.
Erin's outstretched hand turned the handle slowly.
"No!" A familiar voice cried from with in. The door flung wide and the smell engulfed Erin.
The music was cut off as the burning inside her throat began.
"Ho-oltz?" Erin spoke, stepping forwards.
What had she done?

Erin woke up coughing. Her hands surrounding her neck, trying to reduce the pain.
Erin's breathing was short and sharp, she needed water.
Quickly, she climbed out her bed, running out off her room. Dashing into the kitchen.
She cupped her hand under the tap, turning it on. She lifted her hand to her lips and drank.
It cooled her throat and the pain stopped.
Erin sighed, leaning against her kitchen counter. It was early hours and Erin already knew today was going to be long.
What gas had Holtzmann made?

It wasn't until lunch time that Erin looked up from her desk. Abby, stood looking down at her, waiting for her response.
"I-" Erin began her voice a little croaky from last night's dream, "Umm... I'll just have some tomatoe soup." Erin answered and Abby nodded.
"You okay Erin? You've been awfully quiet today."
"Oh, I'm fine. Just my throat is playing up."
"You're not coming down with a cold are you?"
"I don't know. My throat just keeps getting really dry lately." Erin shrugged, hoping Abby wouldn't question her any further.
"Well, hope you get better soon." Then her friend turned away, heading to the kitchen.

Erin, looked back down at her computer. Glancing over the fifty website tabs she had open and then she looked at her periodic table. 11 elements are gasses.
Elements can mix. How many poisons gases could there possibly be?

Patty, look over at the physicist. Then glanced down at the floor where the lay line book still sat. Patty, frowned. Nothing she read interested her, as nothing she read answered her questions. Where was Holtzmann?
Patty looked again at Erin, she had been busy all day. Busy doing what, Patty wasn't sure. If only Patty could busy herself with something.
Her mind went back to the book on the floor. The exact book they had used to defeat Rowan. Lay lines, ran all over the world...

Patty, stood. Her curiosity taking control. She picked up the book, Erin glanced at her with a smile. Then she returned to her desk. Quickly flicking through a few pages, until she landed on the familiar map of New York.
Patty, loaded up google on her computer. Instantly searching the first building she could see that was on one of the lay lines. She will find something. Anything that gave her some idea of where Holtzmann could possibly be.

It was dark. Too dark. It was quiet. Too quiet. Nothing of the room was familiar. Not even the smell. Where was this place?

Abby returned, giving Erin a bowl of soup and Patty a sandwich. Then made her way to her own desk. Placing down her own sandwich. She took her seat and sighed. Her computer screen glaring at her. The empty word document, proving how unproductive she had been. She frowned, looking at her two friends. Both seemed busy, but with what Abby hadn't the slightest clue.
She glanced back at her computer screen. Her hands coming to rest on her keyboard. There was nothing for her to do. Her sight came to land on the phone. No call all day, it was awfully quiet.
Abby, frowned. Picking up her sandwich. All she could do right now was to get by and wait for something to happen.

Holtzmann was no where to be found. No busts, ment no work to distract herself with. No, a lot of things without Holtzmann. No fun. No jokes. No music. No dancing. No Pringles. No... the list went on and Abby felt the pain in the pit of her stomach growing again. The sickness growing and Abby couldn't eat anymore. She placed the sandwich down.
She needed a break. She got out her seat, "Going out. Be back shortly." She declared as she walked out the fire station.
