Took me way too long to upload, sorry.
The ringing noise wouldn't stop. It ran mayhem in Holtzmann's head. She just wanted it to stop. She just wanted everything to stop.
"Hello." Came the voice Jillian still had not identified. "It's a wonderful day today Holtzmann." Jillian tried as she could to try and focus on the voice. To try and see anything in the darkness that surrounded her.
"I think you'll love the surprise we have for you."
"Erin?" Patty spoke, tapping her sleeping friend on the shoulder. Erin didn't move. Patty tapped a little harder, "Erin, wake up." Finally, Erin's eyes opened.
"Erin, Abby hasn't come back." Patty said, as Erin sat up. She had fallen asleep at her desk and now had an aching pain in the back of her neck.
"What?" Erin yawned.
"Abby, hasn't come back from her walk." Patty then added, "and she's not answering my calls."
"Oh." Erin, felt a bad feeling growing in the pit of her stomach. It wasn't just worry it was something else. It was the feeling of loss. The idea of losing two friends.
"What time is it?" Erin managed to say as she rubbed her temples. Her stress levels where beginning to rise.
"It's two in the morning." Patty stated, her own face shone with worry.
Erin's stomach dropped. Where had her friend gone?
"Ha-ave you called the police?" Erin looks up to meet Patty's eyes, noticing the worry and guilt that they displayed.
"They're on their way to question us." Erin, nodded. "I'm going to make coffee." Patty, then turned and left the room.
Patty, entered the kitchen and finally let her tears fall. She had let the pain inside grow, all the worry and guilt and sadness. Now, she had finally broken. She didn't want to lose another friend.
Erin, heard the knock at the door. She dashed over and opened it, two police officers on the other side. "Hello Miss, we're here over a call of a missing person?" Erin just nodded.
"Please, come in." Erin stated, opening the door wide. They entered.
"Wow." The taller office whispered as he looked around. Then he quickly composed himself, as his female partner glared at him.
"Is that the police?" Patty called from the top of the stairs. Quickly her foot steps where heard as she descended them.
"Which one of you is Patty?" The female officer asked, to which Erin replied with pointing to Patty.
"You called reporting a missing person, we have some questions for you." The officer continued addressing Patty. Patty just nodded.
"We could go upstairs, I made coffee. Plus, you could question both of us." Patty, stated in a weird tone. A demanding but worried tone. She spoke rushed. They all headed up stairs, and sat around the kitchen table.
"Right so our report says that Abby Yates, a former Ghostbuster has gone missing."
Hearing the words from the police offer stung Erin's ears, the pain in her stomach grew. She was scared. So scared she began to cry. Slow tears. Fear consumed Erin that she didn't hear Patty ask if she was okay. Or even feel Patty's hand on her shoulder. Fear, stopped her sensors, until she blacked out.The fear, two ghostbusters gone, two ghostbusters remain. What happened to the group? The group of four that saved New York? The ghostbusters?
