Chapter eleven.
"You have to believe me!"
Did I? Did I really have to believe him? Things would be a whole lot easier if I did but I just didn't. How could I believe him when as soon as he saw her face, he regretted kissing me? Who is she? What did she want? I had about a hundred and one questions floating around my head but first, I had a question of my own.
"Why do you regret kissing me?" I asked, keeping my cool.
"I don't! You have to hear me out!" He cried.
The girl in the door way shook her head in disbelief. "You know what, Ashton? It's done. I've got rid of our little problem, okay? So why don't you tell her the truth; tell her who you really are."
My eyes flicked to Ashton. Suddenly realising that I was still wrapped up in his arms, I pushed him away, "Get your hands off me!"
"Look, it's not what it looks like. I can explain-"
"No, no from what I can gather, it is very much what it looks like. Just get out of my sight, take her with you and never, and I mean never, come back. Understand?" I hissed, suddenly putting the pieces together.
He tried to reach out and hold me in his arms but I pushed and kicked him away with all my might. He slipped off the bed and bumped his head against my bedside table, letting out a small cry. Rolling my eyes, I pressed the buzzer, knowing he wasn't about to leave on his own accord anytime soon.
The doctor came running in, his white coat lifting up at the back slightly as he ran. "Abigail, is everything okay?"
I shook my head, "No, can you please get these two out of my room? And um, can you ask Noah to come here?"
"Sir, Madam," Doctor Malaki spoke to both of them, "I'm going to have to ask you to leave or I'll call security." He stared Ashton down - the girl stormed out and slammed my door behind her. "Sir, I don't want to have to call security but I will and you'll be banned from coming back to see Abigail if you don't move."
"Doctor Malaki, I have to explain-"
"Get out, Ashton! Go!"
He sighed audibly and got up to his feet. "This isn't over," he reluctantly trudged over to the door then turned back to face me, "I mean it Abby, I need to explain." After realising that I wasn't about to let him, he grumbled under his breath and left my room, shortly followed by Doctor Malaki.
I rolled my eyes. There was a thousand different possibilities swirling around in my head but I didn't really want to think about it, well, at least not now. It'd be nice to have a day free of drama. A day where nothing goes wrong; a day where everyone is happy and healthy. Ha, I must be dreaming. Since when does anything go right?
I stared up at the ceiling, studying the amount of squares there was. One two... Seven eight... I really wanted to get out of here and go and do something productive but hey, guess what? That's not going to happen. You know, it really sucks being stuck inside these four walls. It's times like this that you realise that making friends would have probably been a good idea, as opposed to sticking to one friend - you never know when they'll let you down or lie to you.
I lazily reached over and pressed the red button, awaiting the nurse. It was only a matter of moments before Demi burst through the door. "Abby, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," I mumbled, "Can I see my father?"
She looked down at her watch and then met my eyes again. "Visiting hours are in about half an hour. I'll go and consult his nurse and find out if we can take you down," She explained.
