- your point of view -

Leo and I were driving along a curved, rocky road that hugged the outer sides of a range of mountains.

We were driving towards our honeymoon destination, which Leo kept from me. He was determined to keep me in the dark. We had gotten married a week prior, and I was still the happiest person in the world.

As Leo concentrated on driving and finding his favorite radio station, I looked to my right and gasped at the beautiful sight before me. Next to the road, there were fences lining the edges as a barrier for those who got close to the cliffs. At the feet of the cliffs were boulders and smooth sand. But farther out, was the magnificent wonder called the ocean; its dream-like waves slowly crashing onto the shore and (might I say, pretty artistic looking) boulder structures.

The sun was high in the sky, providing Leo and I a better sight at the view around us; the beautiful mountains on one side, and the beach on the other.

I happily sighed and leaned back into my seat, stealing a peek at my new husband beside me, still struggling.

He sighed and directed his attention to the road, and muttered, "Oh well, we can deal with no music." He tightened his grip on the leather steering wheel and carefully navigated along a sharp turn.

I smiled and held his free hand. I squeezed it and said, "I think silence is pretty soothing, anyways."

He squeezed my hand back, and I caught a big grin from him.

For the next few minutes, we remained silent and enjoyed each other's company. Every once in a while, we would squeeze each others hand, just to show how excited we both were about the recent marriage.

I mean, we were entering a new stage in our lives. How could we not be elated?

After a few more moments of love and silence, my jean's back pocket vibrated. I quickly let go of Leo's hand, quickly gave him a reassuring look when he glanced over at me, and took out my phone.

- leo's point of view -

I have no idea why y/n trusted me with driving us to our destination (well, we had no choice besides hiring somebody).

I cannot drive. At all.

Well, I can but my attention span isn't the best. But, I had my most prized possession with me in the passenger's seat, and I was determined to get us both to our destination in one piece.

I hadn't told y/n where we were going, because I wanted it to be a surprise.

I had rented us a house up in a forest on one of the highest mountains, which had a great view of the beach. It was isolated, which meant peace and quiet for the both of us.

As I carefully navigated my way around a very sharp, intimidating turn, I felt a warm hand squeeze my own left hand. I heard y/n quietly say, "I think silence is pretty soothing, anyways." I tried to hide my painfully obvious grin, and squeezed their hand back.

The road was actually pretty empty, which helped me calm my nerves a bit. There wasn't anyone in danger of crashing into us (well, the complete opposite).

Suddenly, I felt y/n's hand let go of mine, and I glanced over at them. Y/n looked at me, a reassuring smile on their face, their phone in their hand. I looked back at the road and continued driving.
