The girl stands up and smiles brightly over at me. The girl had a blue off-the-shoulder blouse on her torso with skinny jeans hugging her legs.
"Hello, I'm Cassidy Riloman," she says, sticking her hand out. I let go of the handle of my softball bag and take her hand.
"The name's Raegan Cabrera," I reply back. She nods and stands still awkwardly. I look around the room to see it was pretty big. Bigger than my room back at home at least.
"So," she sighs. "What brings you here to Oxton?"
I walk over to what I was guessing was my side of the room and place my stuff down on my bed.
"I actually got a softball scholarship here. I'm going to be playing third base," I say, digging through my bag to pull out my white sheets and dark grey comforter. I continue to listen to her as I begin working on making my bed, which I never did back at home.
"That's awesome! I'm actually here to study for law," she says. I chuckle quietly under my breath and turn to her, to see she didn't notice. Once I've made my bed, I quickly stand up and sigh.
"Decorating is what I do worst," I sigh. I can hear her giggle lightly from her side of the room, which I replied with smirking. This girl really didn't seem like other girls I'm used too.
You see, girls in used to aren't all dressed up like she is. I'm talking Nike shorts with a t-shirt, skinny jeans and band tees, and crop tops and jean shorts with chokers.
I couldn't judge a book by it's cover, but I honestly didn't care. I scramble through my bag to find all my posters for my favorite bands. I plaster them all over my side of the room before waking over to the small desk the room provided. I put a small black bulletin board on it and pin pictures of my old friends onto it, along with pictures with family. I look over at Cassidy's side to see if was all nice and neat, whereas I had things everywhere.
I hoped she didn't mind.
I wanted to get a rug to put on the floor beside my bed, but I sighed, knowing the fact that I would have to go to the store to do so.
"So," I say, beginning to hang my clothes up in my closet. "What do you like to do for fun?"
Cassidy looks over at me and gives me a cheeky grin. "Study." I raise an eyebrow.
"What?" I ask her, closing the closet door before putting more clothes in my dresser. She shrugs.
"I like to study for fun," she says. I shake my head and put my hands on my hips.
"You can't like to fucking study for fun," I say. Her eyebrows raised when the 'f' word escaped my mouth.
"W-why not?" She asks. I cross my arms.
"So you're telling me, you like to study for fun?" I ask her, quickly spitting out the gum I had in my mouth into the trash can. She nods.
"Yep," she says. I roll my eyes once again.
"No, you've gotta get a better hobby," I say. She tilts her head.
"What do you like to do for fun?" She asks. I shrug.
"A lot of things. I like to play softball and swim in the ocean," I say. Her eyes widened when I mentioned the ocean. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What's wrong?"
She shrugs. "Oh, nothing." I sit down on my bed and shrug as I look out of the window.
"So, do you like your family?" I ask. She shrugs.
"I mean, my family is pretty rich so I guess I should," she says. I raise both of my eyebrows.
"Rich?" I ask her. She nods.
"Yeah. My parents are Derek and Alice Riloman. They own that very successful clothing brand that sells jewelry, t-shirts, and things like that," she says. I twiddle around with my thumbs.
"Don't think I've ever heard of that," I say. She tilts her head.
"How have you not have heard of them?" She asks. I shrug.
"I'm not to into fashion, I guess," I say. She sighs while I bite my lip.
Maybe this was going to be a hard year after all.
"What about your family?" She asks. I shrug.
"They're fine, I guess. They're a little strict, but I know it's for the best," I reply. I look over towards the door and grunt. "What're we supposed to do for the rest of the day?"
She shrugs. "I don't know. I guess stay here," she says. I grab my phone and quickly unlock it. I decided to snap a selfie before looking over at the ukulele case that was laying across the floor. I quickly grab it and set it on top of the desk. "You play the ukulele?"
I look over to her and nod my head.
"Mhmm." I grab my car keys and bag before walking towards the door.
"Are you leaving?" She asks. I nod.
"I'm gonna go get some things for my room in town," I say, spinning my keys on my finger. She nods as I slowly open the door and begin walking down the halls. More people were here, so I had to push my way towards the stairs. I quickly jog down the stairs, avoiding the people rushing upstairs until I get to the lobby. When I do, I push open the doors and step into the parking lot. I walk towards my car before opening the door and putting the keys in the ignition. Once I'm ready, I begin to drive towards the nearest Target.

I groaned as I park the car and take the keys out of the ignition. I step out of my car and throw my purse over my shoulders before walking in. I grab my wallet and quickly look through it to find my credit card laying there. I stuff it back into my bag and walk around, picking a dark grey fluffy rug and light grey curtains to go over the small window that was on my side of the room. I slowly walk over to the cashier to find him smiling at me.
"Your total will be $46.56," he says. I swipe my credit card and grab my bags.
"Thank you," I say quietly before walking out of the store. I sighed, knowing tomorrow was gonna be a long day. I wish I could just do the softball part of college, and not the learning.
