Eve looked in the near-empty compartment. Inside were two students, first or second years judging by how young they seemed. The boy and girl were sitting across from each other, both staring at Eve with a look of amazement.

Eve stood there uneasily, wondering what they were staring at, unsure of what to say or do. "Um, sorry, may I sit with you?"

The girl smiled, displaying horrendously crooked teeth, "s-sure." If it wasn't for the teeth and the girl's nose, which was bent strangely to the right side of her face, she would be very pretty. The girl had short blonde hair chopped right above her shoulders and light gray eyes. The boy's brown eyes went back to his book, 'Computer Programming for Beginners', "Not like anyone would sit here if you didn't."

Eve sat down next to the girl and looked at the book in the boys lap. "Computer Programming, huh? Didn't know they taught that at Hogwarts."

Finally the boy put his book down. He had black fro and high eyebrows that made him look as if he just came face-to face with Filch. (Eve had never met Filch but according to her mother's stories she pictured him as being very ugly and very scary). "Hogwarts does not allow any electronics. Its most advanced technology is the toilets."

Eve wasn't sure what to say to that, so she changed the subject, "I don't know your names. Mine's Evelyn."

"My name's Dylan," the boy said, "and that's Bianca. I'm a Ravenclaw, she's a Slytherin.  You're a first year, aren't you."

Eve smiled, "Yeah, how'd you know?"

"D-Dylan is v-v-v-v-very ob-observant."

Eve turned to Bianca, who she had almost forgotten was there. Bianca didn't seem to talk much, but the two times she had Eve noticed how she stuttered. It didnt bother Eve at all, the stuttering and Dylan's huge glasses and book, the other students however- well, every other compartment was packed with kids but theirs still held only three.

"W-w-we heard wha-what you said to Amarix."

Dylan nodded, "That took a lot of guts, and wit. It was amazing, no one ever insults Amarix and her Ravenpuffs."

"Ravenpuffs?"

"The Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff clique Amarix is apart of, also known as the popular girls."

"I see. Except not everyone likes her."

"Actually," Dylan frowned, "We are pretty much the only ones that openly dislike her. Except for the Slytherdors"

"let me guess, the popular kids that are Slytherins and Griffindors?"

Bianca nodded her head."Pretty much."

Dylan reclined back and reopened his book. "Except far, far more complicated." he added.

The rest of the train ride Eve stared out the window and as she wondered what Hogwarts had behind its old heavy oak doors she found herself thinking that the school was not quite as wonderful as she had been told.
