The boy stares at the crumpled star at his feet.
Torn into pieces the pale gold star lays quietly, its soft watercolored edges torn apart. It was all an act of comedic amusement, in exchange for the delicate emotion of another.
The hallways clears. Everyone sweeping along in the chaos, all but the boy and the girl with torn up stars in her palms and trembling smiles in her cheeks.
The boy frowns. Then something clicks.
The boy walks to her and gives her a very boyish grin. "If they hate stars so much, let's give them a freaking galaxy."
