Chapter 4

The worst thing has happened. Well, at least thats what Zayna thought.

"Cant you please come with me?",she practically begs Chris as they both sat in her room

"Nope, anything related to Mitch, I'm out. You're on your own girl",he says. They actually became good friends after the party and he was actually gay but he wasn't out yet.

"Please...I'm becoming a third wheel and they make me sick!",she whines. He just pats her head in comfort.

After the party, Josh actually asked Mitch out and she said yes. After sometime they became official. And being the bestfriend, Zayna had to support this because Josh was happy.

"If you really didn't want to go...why did you say yes?",he said

"Because i couldn't say no to him. He looked so excited",she reason. He just raised his eyebrows at her.

"Just be my escape route, okay?", she asks

"Just text me SOS and I'll pick you up",he grins and she hugs him.

"Thank you!", she exclaims

"Get a room you two!",Zara teases them

"Uhm...excuse me but I like dudes",he says

"I know",she winks at him before going in her room

She reluctantly gets ready and drags herself towards the mall where the two lovebirds are waiting for her. From far away she could see that Mitch was arguing about something while Josh kept a calm face. She sighs and approaches them

"Hey guys",she greets and they both look at her. Josh smiles while Mitch just rolls her eyes.

"I'm glad you could make it. We were just about to eat", he said.

They were about to go to a fast food chain but Mitch pulls on Josh's arm to the restaurant.

"I don't eat that kind, babe",she reasons

"Uh..okay",he says and follow her into the restaurant.

Josh looks nervously at the menu, he could feel his wallet crying. It didn't help that Mitch ordered a lot even if she didn't eat everything saying she was on a diet. Zayna just rolls her eyes. When the bill came, Josh was ready to cry.

"I can split the bill", Zayna said and was about to take out her wallet when Mitch spoke

"Don't be silly, Zana. Joshy's got it all covered. Right, babe?",she asks. She was about to point out that her name was Zayna but Josh spoke.

"Oh...yeah",he says. He quickly stands up and excuses himself to the restroom leaving the two girls. It was so awkward that Zayna was considering texting Chris but luckily Josh came back and paid the bill.

"Hey are you sure? I don't mind splitting the bill", she tries to ask but Josh just shakes his head and pays the bill. Once they leave the restaurant, they walk along the mall. Well, more like Mitch practically dragged them as she tried on different outfits. Josh just kept complimenting her while Zayna just played a game on her phone.

"Oooh! Babe, i want Milkshakes",Mitch exclaims causing Zayna's eardrums to bleed. Josh looked at his girlfriend then at the prices. He wasn't cheap but he wasn't rich either.

"Yeah, i want one too. Its on me",she says and Josh never looked more thankful. They ordered and sat in a booth. Not long after, Zayna's name was called. She stood up and grabbed her drink.

"Mitch", the barista calls.

"Could you get that, babe?",she asks Josh and he stands up

"So, does Josh ever talk about me?",she asks once Josh was out of sight

"Oh,uhh...yeah",she says

"Oh yeah? What does he say?",Mitch says and waited for an answer

"Oh you know...stuff", she says and prayed that Josh would return soon

"Do how did you two meet?"

"Oh well, i dropped my handker--", she cuts her off

"Do you guys really need to hang out?", she asks with a fake smile

"Well, yes. He's my Bestfriend",she sneers at her

"Oh yeah, but I'm his girlfriend",she says proudly

"So? That doesn't mean he has to stop hanging out with his friends",she's so close to punching her.

"But it would help if he knew his priorities", thats it! Zayna was about to stand up when Josh came

"Hey! Is everything okay?",he asks and places Mitch's drink on the table

"Peachy",Zayna says, her voice dripping with sarcasm

"Me and Zana were just having a chat,babe",she smiles at him. Zayna quickly grabs her phone.

SOS. I'm about to slap this bitch

"Josh!"

"Thats my order. Be right back",he says and leaves the two once again. Mitch grabs the straw at the middle of the table, purposely knocking down Zayna's milkshake and causing it to spill all over her.

"Oops",Mitch says in fake shock. Zayna smiles sickly at her.

"No problem. Here let me help you with that", she says and grabs the milkshakes at throws it at Mitch's face.

"Zayna!", Josh says and they both look at him.

Zayna brings out her handkerchief to wipe off the milkshake but Josh cuts her off.

"Can i borrow that, Zayna? You have an extra right?",he didn't let her respond as he grabs it and uses it to wipe his girlfriend's face. Little did he know that Zayna didn't bring an extra.

"What the heck,Zayna?",Josh says to her, irritation in his voice.

"Hey! Don't blame me! Your girlfriend started it!",she tries to reason with him

"It was an accident", Mitch says, feigning innocence.

"See? You didn't have to lash out on her like that!", he practically screams.

"Whatever! Have fun on your date!", she storms off, not caring if people were staring at her milkshake drenched shirt.

She goes to the parking lot to wait for Chris.

"Zayna! Wait!", Josh calls out.

"What do you want, Josh?! Its clear who you believe!", she says irritably

"Look I'm sorry for yelling at you",he says

"Whatever, Josh. Its fine. Go back to your date",she says as she sees Chris' car

"Zayna...",he tries to call out but she walks towards Chris' car.

"Yikes! Was it that bad?",Chris says once she gets in the car.

"Just drive, Chris. Please",she says.

She felt a pang in her heart. She didn't deserve to be mad at him. He chose his girlfriend...but why does it hurt so much?
