Taro POV
I ran up to his house. "Ryoto!" I hissed. He opened the window.
"Do we have to spy now?" He cried rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"Yes! Now let's go!"
We snuck up to Higaku's house and peeked in windows until we found his room.
We heard mumbled voices. A girl laughing and a boy talking. They were sitting on a bed together.
We opened the window a bit to hear them.
"Haha! Higaku you're so funny!" Touka laughed.
"You know," Higaku said seriously. "I really like you."
Our mouths dropped to the ground. Now he was confessing!
"Y-you do?" Touka asked blushing.
"And," he said, grabbing her chin. "I want to be more than friends."
"Hurry stupid!" I whisper shouted to Ryoto who was firing a gun into the air to break up the moment.
"I-I'm sorry," Touka said. We all stopped. Even Higaku. "I just... if I say yes, you'll die... and my heart belongs to someone else..."
"Who?" Higaku demanded, but realized by Touka's scoot back that he'd gone too far. He took a breath and sat back down.
"Kaneki," she said. Everyone's mouths dropped, especially Higaku's.
"It's true! He comforted me during the first murder, he's just so nice, he helped me not be scared of the murders. He even told me that some people are out to kill for me. Also, he helped me build up the courage to talk to you. I don't know what he wanted with me but Kaneki was there to save the day."
"Wow," everyone said.
Touka and Higaku looked around to who said that. We both ducked, but Ryoto kept his hands on the windowsill.
"RYOTO! I KNOW THAT'S YOU! TARO YOU MUST BE THERE TOO!" Higaku shouted. Touka jumped.
I dove in and grabbed Touka while Ryoto fought Higaku. Touka screamed a bit but I covered her mouth.
We just stole Touka from Higaku.
We'll kill him soon.
