Hey guys, thank you so much for 2.8k reads on The Mask!
Perrie's POV:
"Which room is she in?" I demanded. I was standing in the hospital's reception desk, and I had just startled the receptionist. "Do you have a name?" The receptionist asked calmly. "Jade Thirlwall," I said. "She's in the intense care wing, room D15," The receptionist pointed at the elevator. Third floor, then to the right."
"Thank you," I said, running off to the elevator, flocked by my father, and Jade's mother. The whole elevator ride, I couldn't stop thinking about Jade, and I was praying that she would survive.
The elevator dinged, and I ran off, down the hall, determined to find Jade as soon as possible. "Perrie honey?" My dad called. "Yeah?" I stopped, and turned around. "What is it?"
"Jade's room is the other way," my dad pointed at the hall the opposite way I was running. "I knew that!" I called, and ran past them, and down the other hallway.
Panting, I came to a stop at the room marked "Room D15, Jade Thirlwall." I pushed open the door, and gasped. Jade was lying on a bed, with a series of tubes hooked up to her, including one to help her breathe. An IV was not currently hooked up to her, but it was to the side of her bed.
"Jadey," I whispered, slowly walking over to her, and sinking into the chair beside her bed. I grabbed her hand, and held on like it was a lifeline. I looked at her beautiful face, covered my bandages and tubes. Her eyelids fluttered slightly, and she sighed deeply in her sleep.
"Jadey, I'm here, I'm sorry. I should have stopped you from falling," tears started falling again, and I rubbed her hand. I looked down at her wrist. "Scars!" I gasped. Jade cut herself? For how long was the happy and carefree Jade I fell in love with depressed, and putting up the act to fool everyone?
"Jade, please don't leave me, I don't know what I would do without you. You have to be strong princess. Hold on, please. I love you, so much," I cried. "And I was too stupid to not realize you felt the same way."
I felt an arm come around my shoulders, and I looked up to see Jade's mom standing there, sadly smiling. "I can't thank you enough, Perrie. You did wonderfully." I wiped my eyes. "I did?"
"Yes, if you hadn't told anyone, and just gone out to look for Jade alone, she might have left us," her mother said, rubbing my arm. "Excuse me, visiting hours are over, you need to leave. If you would like to stay overnight, you will need to fill out a form," a nurse said.
"I can't leave her," I whispered, staring at Jade. "Can you bring a form up to this room?" My father asked. "I can," the nurse answers. "Then please do," my father replied. "Thank you," I said, smiling, and standing up to hug my father.
"Of course, I can see how much she means to you," my father said. "She really means a lot," I looked back at Jade. "Please wake up," I laid my head down on her bed.
A few days later...
Jade's POV:
Everything hurts. Why am I still alive? I try to think back to the last memory I have. I was about to jump, then, Perrie. Perrie came, and I still jumped. Right before I fainted, I remember hearing Perrie say, "I love you." She loves me?
I can feel not just pain, but a soft hand in mine. Perrie's? I hope she's here. Is she the one that wouldn't let me die, like I wanted to? Have they found out about my scars? Probably. I wish I could wake up.
Suddenly, my eyes fly open, and I jerk up into a sitting position. "Perrie!"
Perrie's POV:
I stared at Jade, not believing that she was awake. "Jade?" I asked, letting go of her hand, and placing my hands on her shoulders. "Perrie!" Jade hugged me tight. Her body was trembling. "Jade, stay here, I'm going to go get the nurse," I said. As I ran down the hall, it finally hit me, and sunk in.
My Jadey's alive. She's gonna be alright.
I threw open the nurse's door, and saw them all standing, talking in hushed tones. One of the nurses saw me. "Miss Edwards...?" The nurse came over to me. "It's Jade!" I said. "Oh no, what about her?" The nurse looked really worried.
"Jade's awake!" I exclaimed.
Yay, Jade's alright! Well, I had to make it up to you guys somehow. Also, I am writing more Jerrie, because I miss it. Is it just me, or does Jerrie seem dead these days? Anyways, thanks for reading you guys! See you!
