He stared down at the cold marble floor, unsure of what to do. The best thing he had ever had laid in his arms, but he could never have her. She left before he could even tell her how he felt. He had loved her as long as he had known her, falling in love the minute his eyes locked with her gorgeous blue ones.

It was a normal night for Val, going to watch his brother and his friend Peta perform in a show he so loved Burn the Floor. The show was incredible, and his eye was drawn to a gorgeous dark-haired woman several times. She danced fiercely and with a purpose. That was how Val seemed to think he danced as well. After the spectacular show, he went backstairs to give Peta some flowers and Maks a hug. He found Peta in the hallway chatting with some other dancers, including the woman. He suddenly dropped the flowers out of clumsiness, and bent down to pick them up. His hand brushed another and he looked up, only to butt heads with the dark-haired woman. They made a sudden eye contact and Val was shocked by her stunning looks. She laughed and he grabbed the flowers. After standing up, he helped her up and she smiled.

"Sharna, by the way. Sharna Burgess." she sweetly spoke in her Aussie accent.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Valentin. But everyone calls me Val. You must be the fellow Australian that Peta talks about?" Val chuckled slightly.

"YOU KNOW P?" Sharna screamed excitedly, running to grab her friend. She brought Peta back over and Val cracked up laughing at the whirlwind of energy that was Sharna.

Peta smiled, happy that her two friends had been introduced. "So I see you guys have met? That's wonderful, but Val, you better be extra nice to my sister here. She is my absolute best friend and I would die if something happened to her."

The tears flooded Val's eyes as he recalled their meeting. He would never get to hang out with Peta, Maks, and Sharna together ever again. Peta. Peta.

shit, he thought.

How on earth was he going to tell Peta?

The tears came harder now, and he had no energy to stop them.
