His heart raced faster as the tears continued to flow. Sharna was her best friend, more like her sister. The one Peta could go to. The third person, after her mum and Maks of course, who she had told she was pregnant. The girl who understood Peta's hustle, and who she had gone through all the same things with. Those two girls had a connection that no one could recreate. Maybe it was the dance, maybe it was the Aussie background, but they were sisters.

And how could he deliver that news?

"Hey Peta, your sister is dead because I didn't know how to save her."

"Uh P, your best friend is gone because I couldn't notice she was broken."

"Hey sis, the godmother of your son isn't here to see him grow old."

As the scenarios flashed through his had, he felt like his breath had been knocked out from underneath him. His head pounded and he laid his head down on the cold tile of the bathroom. It was pretty tile. It had a marbled affect, with a gray-blue color and speckles of red. Red? The more he thought, he looked up to see blood trickling from his nose. He always got bloody noses when he was stressed. And usually he passed out after that. He didn't really have time to think about that part before the darkness of unconsciousness enclosed his mind.
