"Mommy! Why can't I sleep on the air mattress?" Joey screamed. We were in Stephanie and Michelle's old room. Michelle had recently moved back into my room. "Because Nicki and Jacklyn get the air mattress. You wouldn't rather have this nice comfy bed?" I asked. "NO!" Joey screamed loudly again. Steve snatched Joey out of my arms and took him into the hall. When they came back, Joey wasn't screaming anymore. "What did you do?" I asked Steve. "I showed him Big Joey's alcove. I told him if he didn't want the bed, he'd be sleeping there." Steve told me. He looked toward Little Joey. "I bet Big Joey would love a nice warm comfy bed to sleep in!" He said. "NO! It's MINE!" Joey yelled.

A few moments later, Dad came upstairs. "Hey! Anyone in here want some Spaghetti?" He asked. "ME!" Nicki and Joey yelled together, and took off sprinting downstairs. I picked up Jacklyn. "I think I should walk you down these stairs. I said.

When we got down to the table, Steph and Derek were already there. Nicky and Alex sat next to Derek, and Nicky was quizzing Derek on his knowledge of the San Francisco Giants. Alex was reading. Jesse sat next to Alex, and next to Jesse was Becky. Dad sat next to Becky, and Nicki and Joey sat next to Dad. Steve sat next to Joey, and I sat down next to Steve with Jacklyn on my lap. There was one chair left, and Michelle wasn't downstairs yet. When she finally came down, she took one look at the chair next to Stephanie. "I'm not all that hungry," She said, and before anyone got a chance to respond, she went back upstairs. "What's her problem?" Stephanie asked. Everyone looked at each other, but no one told her.

After supper that night, The kids went out to play some football with Nicky and Alex. Steve said he would watch them. I helped Stephanie and Becky wash the dishes. "Really, DJ, what was Michelle's problem at Supper?" Stephanie asked. "She's mad because you're engaged." I said. "Why would she be mad about that? I'll make her a bridesmaid. Better than what she was in your wedding." Steph said. "Hahaha. You're so funny." I said sarcastically. "She doesn't know Derek. Dad's concerned about that too." Steph looked down at her ring. "I'll make sure they get to know him. He's really a nice guy." She said. "I know." I said. "I'll help you. They'll like him soon enough." I said.
