Gone

Prologue

Haley and Mason were at their secret spot they found in the woods. They had found this spot years ago, and now they come to it all the time.

It was a circle in the woods where there were no trees or bushes.

The ground was dirt, no grass. There had been grass at first, but they decided to remove it for it just got them all itchy.

There were pine trees surrounding it and the branches from bushes made it seem as though there was a fence around the circle.

Chairs had been taken there as well as quite a few toys to play with.

Haley and Mason were playing catch with a basketball, but Haley accidentally threw it too far. Mason went to go get it while she waited.

It had been about five minutes then and she figured it had probably went somewhere difficult to reach so he would take a little longer.

Ten minutes later Haley was convinced he was going to come back anytime then.

She got worried and went to go try to find him to help him. He would have came back by now, wouldn't he have?

Haley searched and searched, but she could not find him anywhere.

She ran to his house and told his mother she could not find him, that he had gone to look for a ball and had not came back. Mason's mother, Mrs. Lee, called the police.

Police searched that woods for weeks but there wasn't even footprints from him.

Weeks and weeks after searching, they finally realized Mason was not going to be found.

Haley heard the news and she was devastated.
She cried nonstop for days.
