Josephine reached for it in the special corner in her book shelf in her bedroom. She held it reverently in her hands and heaved a sigh. It was as if she had found a tall glass of iced Milo in the middle of the Gobi.
Ever since she watched Lydna Carter as Wonder Woman as a child, she had drawn strength from the character. Whenever she encountered a roadblock or felt marginalised, she would bring out this old copy of the Radio & TV Times, flipped through it and felt empowered afterwards.
She had made the life-changing decision and today was the day. There was no turning back but she knew this was what she wanted.
She gazed at her reflection in the mirror. Wonder Woman stared at her with a quiet intensity. She smiled and nodded, put back the magazine and opened her bedroom door.
