Chapter 18: Heart wants what it wants

"Are we catching some train or what?", Travis said while keeping pace with me.

"It's a kind of important. You won't believe if I tell you that Drew's life is potentially in threat", I sighed.

"That jerk needs to die. Why are you running so fast?", Travis asked.

"Ssh! No more talking. I'll tell you everything once we reach", I told him and he pretended to put his fingers on lips. Haha! Still a kid at heart.

We reached the Music room and I saw everyone waiting for us. Even Drew. Phew! I'm glad Ana behaved herself.

"Sorry Miss. I actually was busy", I spoke.

"No worries Princy. Please have a seat", she said,"and who's this new face?"

"Ma'am he's in our batch and today's his first day. When I told him about this fest thing, he said he also wanna join. So I suggest why can't three of us sing together as a group?", I avoided eye contact with anybody in the room because I'm pretty sure they will be bewildered.

"Are you even in your senses right now?", hissed Travis. I nodded but Miss. Evans interrupted us.

"Well, in that case, I would wish to her him sing", said Miss. Evans.

"Go Trav! I know you will do this for me", I whispered him.

He nodded and I let the fate decide what happens because before Trav started, I left the room.

After some weeks-

I sat down shoving some popcorn into my mouth. Yeah there's an occasion so popcorns are must. The phone rang and I picked up to see Ana calling.

"Hey Ana...", she cut me off immediately.

"Tacos or bagels?"

Difficult decision to make...

"Bring two each", I said.

"Aye aye captain! Coming in few minutes. Is the competition started yet?"

"Nah, not yet but bring your lazy ass over here quickly. The crowd is insanely loud so talk to you later ", I hanged up the call.

You all must be thinking what's the competition all about? Well, I'm here to tell you. Remember some weeks ago there was supposed to be a duet performance by me and Drew. But interestingly, Travis showed up and I, being an idiot, took him to Miss. Evans. That day resulted in what I'm going to witness today.

"Ladies and gentlemen! I know you have been waiting for this performance all day. So without wasting a time, let's call upon both the contestants of this FACE OFF!!"

Face off, yeah you heard it right. And no! I'm not going to sing. I'll just sit and relax and listen to them.

"I'm so sorry but look at this place, it's full of people. I mean Trav and Drew, both of them have something to attract these many people. Whom are you supporting today?", Ana plopped besides me in her seat.

"I don't know. I mean I'm not supporting anybody. Both of them clearly have different places in my life", I stated.

The audience started applauding as soon as they saw them. Them, as in Drew and Travis. I relaxed as they started singing. I hope they chose a right song or I will not even think twice before going to sleep.
