"Good morning,"
Josh's eyes shoot open, a voice he was unfamiliar with when waking up.
It wasn't Abby, or his mother, none of his brothers either. There was a weight on his chest, and when Josh's eyes regained focus, he saw Tyler, straddling him with two hands lightly pushing on his chest, a little grin on his face.
"Good morning, um," Josh looks down to where Tyler is sitting, unsure if his usual morning problem had come back.
"You right?""Yep! I had a really good sleep," Tyler quickly averts his eyes from the corner of the room, as if someone had been watching at him the whole time.
"Okay," Josh draws out. "Any reason as to why you're sitting on me?"
"Wanted to wake you up,"
"You could've easily done that without..." Josh trails off, Tyler not even listening as he clambers from atop Josh.
"We can have the eggs you brought me!" Tyler bounces out the room, rambling to himself, Josh shakes his head, quickly checking himself with one hand and finding nothing incriminating down there.
Josh rises from the bed, his back aching from spooning all night, Josh can't help but think that that was probably the nicest, warmest sleep he had ever had. He wanders into the bathroom, flipping the toilet to drain the snake. He stares out the window as he does, a burnt sun rearing its head over the small town. Josh yawns as he finishes, plopping the seat back down with a quick flush.
As he steps back, something stabs into his foot and makes him jump away in pain.
One hand clutches his foot until he looks down and see what he had stood on.
He can feel the blood drain from his face, knowing that his face wasn't the only place blood had obviously drained from. Quickly, he washes his hands and picks the little piece of metal off the bathroom floor.
He jogs down the stairs, turning through the lounge room and passing into the kitchen.
Tyler is busy pulling things out of the fridge or cupboards, boxers clinging tightly to his form.
Josh shakes his head, trying to remember what the real problem was.
He slams a hand onto the table to catch Tyler's attention, slowly opening it and placing the tiny sharp piece onto the kitchen table.
Tyler spins around and stares at it, eyes widening slightly.
"Whats that?" He nervously laughs, stuffing his arms behind his back as discreetly as he can.
"Tyler, what did you do?" Josh steps forward hesitantly, and Tyler just shrugs.
"Nothing,"
"Tyler, can I see your arms?" Josh dips his head, gently reaching a hand out to Tyler, beckoning him to bring them forward.
"Why?" Tyler tilts his head.
"Did you hurt yourself Ty?"
Josh cautiously reaches for one of Tyler's arms, Tyler still having them hidden behind his back. He's so close to taking one when Tyler slaps his hand, clear wounds showing as he does.
"Tyler," Josh gasps in shock.
"I didn't do it," Tyler looks to the floor, regaining his composure as best as he could. Josh exhales in a stutter and shakes his head.
