Suite Life/Riverdale fanfic
CHAPTER 2
Almost a year later, after Cody hadn't come home for school on the SS Tipton, and summer was almost over, Zack had beat himself up so much over what happened that he decided he needed to find Cody. He needed to fix things, he missed him so bad. Cody, or Jughead, doesn't even think of Zack anymore. He has a completely new life. He finally is Betty's boyfriend, even though his dad was put in jail, their relationship is okay, and he managed avoid the foster home and stay with Archie. Archie and Jughead smoothed over their bumps and their relationship is as good as ever, and with some negotiating with Betty, he even made better friends with Veronica and Kevin. His life was coming back together after the tragic series of events that occurred in his life. You might even say that Jughead doesn't even remember Zack anymore. Zack starts packing. Only what he needs, but He's not coming back. Never. He can start over in Riverdale, he can try to make new friends, and fix up his relationship with his brother. He has a few suite cases of his clothes, he took money he was saving for who knows what and he called a taxi to bring him to the airport. There is absolutely nothing else going on inside his brain except Cody. There is nothing left inside him at all. He has become so empty without his brother, its literally killing him.
"truth or dare?" Archie asks Jughead before shoving a piece of pizza in his mouth. Him, Jughead, Betty, Kevin, Joaquin, and Veronica all sat around Betty's fireplace in the living room. Alice Cooper had eased up a lot on Betty's life, knowing that trouble was far from Riverdale, even after the death of Jason and Fred being shot, thankfully not killed. She was more comfortable with Betty's social life, she understood that she could be a protective mother, yet let Betty have an easier life.
"hmm, truth," Jughead replied with a half grin. All of them were happy. Veronica lied on Archie's lap and Betty leaning on Jughead. Kevin and Joaquin even leaned together. Everything was perfect, for now...
"Okay uhh- oh! Have you had any girlfriends before? I mean, other than Betty," Archie asks. Everyone 'ooos'. Jughead was about to say no with a laugh until he remembered. He hadn't thought about it, about her, in more than a year. His palms started to sweat and he felt sick. Everyone around him still waited for an answer. Only Archie and Betty could sense there was something wrong, though.
"Hey, Jug, are you okay?" Betty says while cupping his cheek.
"jughead are you alright?" Archie asks, trying to read his eyes.
"I uhh... I gotta go, see you guys another time?" Jughead walks away before anyone can see tears coming from his face. Betty catches him right before he leaves through the door and brings him to her room. Archie slowly gets up.
"Jughead can you tell me what's going on? Is there something you need to tell us? To tell me?" Betty asks, sitting themselves on her bed. Jughead wipes away some tears but doesn't answer.
"Jug, you can tell me anything, okay? Remember we are trying to work on the honesty thing here..."
"Okay..." Jughead replies quietly.
"Take your time," Betty adds. So many things started going through Jughead's mind. He was a completely different person than he really appeared to be, he had changed for the better. But now, he had to tell her who he truly was.
"My-" He starts, "My name is Cody Martin. I moved here a little over a year ago, and I changed my name and got adopted... Jellybean isn't really my sister.. and I actually have twin brother named Zack... I did have a girlfriend, actually, her name is Bailey but... something... something terrible happened. I ran away from home, I ran away from them.." Jughead starts to quietly sob.
"Juggy, who did you run away from?" Betty asks, trying to calmly take in all the news she's being given.
"Zack and Bailey, they did something I would never forgive them for, they destroyed me," Jughead says, crying louder now.
"What did they do?" Betty digs further, she needed to know everything.
"Zack fricking got him and Bailey drunk. Then- then they had sex! I can't- I mean, how could- and then, ohhh and then, it gets worse, Zack took a picture of me naked and sent it to some of the colleges I wanted to go to ever since I was little. See, I'm really smart. Not to brag, but, I'm terribly smart, but they, Zack, he ruined any chance of me getting anywhere. So I gave up, and- so I took my stuff, and I came here. Fp adopted me, I changed my look from nerdy to, whatever the hell it is that I'm wearing, I even dyed my hair. You know what color hair I have? Blonde. Blonde! I can't- I can't forgive-" Jughead couldn't get another word out of his mouth, and he broke down crying again, helplessly sitting there. Betty wrapped herself around him as he sobbed and sobbed.
"Jughead, please don't cry, you're making me sad," Betty says quietly, her eyes begin to water.
"How could you not hate me? How can you stand me right now? For not telling you anything?" Jughead asks as he withdraws from Betty's embrace.
"Because Jughead, you told me now, and I can see why you would try to keep that a secret. Plus, this doesn't make me hate you, Jughead, I love you, you're not going to change that..." Betty smiles at Jughead, even though she knows he's about to burst out crying again, which he does, but he reaches out for her, and she goes back to him. They just stay there on her bed until he's fallen asleep on her stomach. Betty lies awake, and plays with his once golden blonde hair. Archie comes in abruptly, but quiets down when he sees the two of the lying down. Betty sits up a little and puts a finger over her lips.
"Is he okay?" Archie whispers, looking over at his best friend and putting his hand on Jughead's arm.
"Not really," Betty replies.
"Well, are you gonna tell me?" Archie asks.
"Yeah, but this stays between you and me, until we figure everything out," Betty begins to tell Archie who the boy sleeping next to them really is, and what happened to him.
Meanwhile....
Zack arrived at Riverdale that night. He had no idea where anything was, so he figured he would go to the police station for some direction. When he got to the front desk, he asked if anyone knew of a Cody Martin, but no one Knew off the top of their head. Sherriff Keller, was nice enough to go through some files, after recalling something in the last year.
"What's your name?" Sherriff asks
"oh uhh, Zack.. Martin."
"Okay, let me see here, you said you are looking for your.. twin brother, Cody Martin, correct?"
"Yes."
"Okay, uhm, oh, OH. It says here there was a Cody martin that was adopted by a man, Fp Jones." Sherriff realizes that Zack is talking about Jughead, but keeps to himself.
"Ok, well, is that it?"
"Well no, I believe Cody Martin is known as Jughead Jones here, in fact, he's my son's friend."
"Oh! Well do you know where your son is? Maybe they are hanging out together?"
"Yes, actually, they are over at the Cooper's,"
"Could you uhh, tell me where that is please?"
"Hmm I don't know if I should be trusting you with this, young man."
"Please, I have to see him, its urgent!" Zack's eyes start to water. This can't be it for him, he needs to get to Jughead.
"Fine, here's their address," Sherriff slowly hands over a piece of paper in which Zack takes quickly.
"Thank you so much, sir."
"Uhm, sure. Don't be out too late, kid."
"Ok! Bye." And he leaves to go find Jughead. He gets back into the taxi and gives him the address. Zack becomes nervous, not sure of what to say when he gets to whoever the Cooper's house was.
