I tossed and turned in bed that night, checking my phone every five minutes that painfully felt like an hour.

The views seemed to be rising in thousandths, and the negative comments kept piling, one after another.

I scrolled down through them, bile nearly rising, threatening to spew out of my mouth any minute.

'Harry Styles is mine!! She needs to back off'

'Shes clearly a phony, nobody believe this.'

'That boy is cute.'

'I was at this party! It was so cool!'
'
'At least she's hot'

I scoffed at that one.

I continued reading them until my heart stopped beating.

'colexmason1994 said: she's mine. That son of a bitch better stay away from her. '

Cole Mason. The man who haunted my nightmares for 4 years.

Long ago, when Caleb and I were in primary school, Cole Mason, Caleb's brother, had developed a crush on me.

He continuously kept on trying to get my attention, although he was 2 years older.

At first, I thought it was sweet, but Cole soon became infatuated with me.

Then, when we got to middle school, things started to get out of hand. Cole was that protective guy, who always lingered around me.

If he saw someone talking to me, he would threaten to beat them to a bloody pulp.

I complained to the principal about it several times, but seeing as nothing drastic happened, nothing was done.

I tried talking to him about it, I had repeatedly told him that I didn't have feelings for him, and even if I did, it was only sisterly love. I desperately tried to get him to move on, but he claimed I'd fall in love with him sooner or later.

On February 14 of 8th grade, it was then that I officially became terrified of Cole Mason.

On February 14, James Petrick gave me a box of chocolates. It was my first romantic experience, and I thought it was sweet that he did that for me despite Coles threats. I hugged him, thanking him for his kind deed, when he suddenly stepped back.

His eyes were wide and alarmed, I'll never be able to forget that look on his face.

Before I knew it, James was on the floor, his face being pounded constantly by a single fist. I recognized Cole's blue hoodie as he continued to kick James repeatedly in the stomach. James' face was now littered with blood, as he begged for Cole to stop. I stood there like a coward, holding on to the box of chocolates for dear life.

Then it happened, I heard the menacing crack of James' knee cap shattering, as he screamed out in pain.

2 sounds. 2 sounds, that I'll never be able to erase from my mind.

The teachers arrived, and before I knew it, the ambulance and the police had arrived as well.

James had a shattered rib cage, a broken nose, and possible permanent knee damage.

James' kind hearted family decided not to press charges against Cole, they had believed every child deserved an education and depriving Cole of one was unfair, despite his actions towards James.

Even though they hadn't pressed charges, Cole was still sent away to a bootcamp juvenile, for 4 years. Now, he was back.

After 2 hours, I had calmed myself down, trying to convince myself it was a phony.

Cole Mason was all over the news, anybody could have possibly made a fake account of him and commented that.

I got into bed, finding comfort in my stuffed animals. About 20 minutes in, I was awoken again, by soft sounds on the window.

I slowly walked over to check what it was, and I noticed small pebbles on the balcony.

Cautiously, I slid open the sliding door before stepping onto the cold balcony floor.

Looking down, my heart rate got faster.

There was a boy, no wait- a man. He was wearing a blue hoodie, which was frayed and shabby at the sleeves.

That's when he looked up, a smile forming on his face. The features of his face were extremely familiar, but I couldn't place my tongue on it.

I suddenly gasped and shook my head. No- it couldn't be him.

Was it possible that Cole Mason was standing in my front yard?

"You guessed right sweetheart. Long time no see- huh? Four years, and you've even got more beautiful. You know what, every day in that , every day for four years, I dreamt about you. I dreamt about us being together. I dreamt about today. How's James? Did it teach him to stay away from you? I'm sure it did. I can't believe you stayed single while I was gone. Thank you, for waiting-"

"Cole, if you don't leave right now, I'll call the cops." My voice trembled as I spoke, I bit on the side of my cheek to prevent myself from screaming.

Cole chuckled, a bitter chuckle. "Alright- Alright. But I'll just have you know, whoever that Harry Styles bastard is- better stay away from you- Otherwise I'll do worse to him than what I did to James. Because you're mine, you should know that by now."

He kissed two of his fingers, pointing them in my direction, before running off, disappearing into the darkness. I was officially, 100% screwed.

Mr. Harry Styles, if you die tonight, I'm sincerely sorry.
