Ruby and Jade were outside, humiliated and miserable. They did everything they could to impress boys, and all it got them was to be a laughing stock.

"I can't believe it—we failed," Jade pouted.

"We spent the whole day trying to get boyfriends, and we turned ourselves into clowns," Ruby sighed.

Suddenly, the rest of the Buttercup troop found Ruby and Jade—and they were listening to their conversation.

"Sofia makes it look so easy," Ruby continued.

"She makes everything look easy, Ruby," Jade pointed out.

This confused the others very much, especially Sofia. "I make what look easy?" she asked.

Ruby and Jade jumped at the sound of Sofia's voice. They realized that she and the other Buttercups were listening to what they were saying—and they didn't seem too happy to see Sofia.

"How do you do it, Sofia?" Ruby asked.

"What?" Sofia frowned. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"You didn't do anything get Prince Hugo to be your boyfriend, and we did everything we could to get our own—but we wound up making complete fools of ourselves," Jade revealed.

The word "boyfriend" caught Sofia and Hugo off guard, and it left Meg, Peg, Baileywick, and Helen confused.

"Boyfriend?" Sofia gaped. "Ruby, Jade, just because I like to goof around with Hugo, it doesn't mean he's my boyfriend."

"Where did you get such a ridiculous idea, girls?" Helen asked.

"It's easy for Sofia to steal a boy's heart, and we want to do the same thing," Ruby revealed.

"We did everything we could to impress boys, but all we did was make fools of ourselves," Jade added.

Sofia and Hugo were still caught off guard by what Ruby and Jade were talking about, but Helen knew what to say.

"Girls, just because Sofia won a boy's heart easily, it doesn't mean you should too," Helen said.

"Besides, we're still kids—we're 11 years old," Sofia pointed out.

"Sofia is right," Hugo agreed. "There are lots of things we're still too young for."

"They're right, and it's not like you have to get married before you're 13," Meg declared.

"Yeah, my brother is 13, and he doesn't waste his time obsessing over girls—mostly because he spends most of his time training to be king," Hugo said.

Ruby and Jade realized that they'd been acting silly all day, worrying about not getting boyfriends.

"You're right," Jade sighed. "We spent the whole day obsessing over boys and not enjoying ourselves."

"Yeah," Ruby agreed. "I think I learned my lesson."

"Me too—but after everything that happened to day, I don't think I want to go back in there," Jade declared.

"Well, if you enjoy what you're doing, you won't worry so much about embarrassing yourselves," Sofia suggested.

Ruby and Jade smiled, realizing that Sofia was right.
