Not all details in this story are going to be STRICTLY with the literal story of Steven Universe; it's a fanfiction. A fiction story based off of a fandom by a fan. Thanks <3
Amethyst gave you a sad smile, and let you both get comfortable. She knew this conversation would get... Emotional. Amethyst smile faded, as she furrowed her eyebrows.
"I wish you had told me all that before, because I have so many things to tell you. I didn't wanna just flop all the information onto you immediately, so, I waited until you had something... Traumatic to say." Amethyst explained to you, gripping your hand. You nodded, staring down at her purple knuckles.
"Yeah... I'm sorry, again. Now that you know about me... What happened to you?" you asked Amethyst, reluctantly squeezing her hand. She let her hair fall over her eyes, and she squeezed your hand back, taking a deep breath.
"When I was first finished... Being created, and I came from the ground, no other gem was near me. Everything was dark in the Kindergarten. I was alone. I had slowly became friends with a freaking boulder over time, thinking it'd crack and a Quartz or something would pop out, but, no, I was alone for decades. No gems would ever be born. At least, that's what *I* thought... One day, I heard and felt the ground of the Kindergarten shaking violently. I saw this massive, broad-shouldered Quartz gem. She had long, wavy yet jagged orange-beige hair, and orange colored skin with lighter orange stripes... Like a tiger. She had these eyes - which I only got to see for a second - but, they were cat eyes. Bright yellow. Mean looking, thick eyebrows, too. Replacement of her nose... Was her gem. Jasper." Amethyst croaked a little when she said "Jasper". You froze in place. 'That Quartz I had worked with before.'
"She was so intimidatingly big." Amethyst shuddered as she spoke. You felt Amethyst let go of your hand, putting both of her hands in her hair. "Before she charged off, she called me things like, "runt" and "Gem defect". I-I..." Amethyst's voice faded, as more hair fell over her eyes, and she put her hands over her thighs, squeezing them. You looked at her cautiously, frowning. "...I became so sad, a-and I-" Amethyst started to cry, you could tell. Tiny, saddening sobs hiccuped from her, as she covered her eyes. You could only see her clenched jaw, which was too awful for your eyes to bear. You put your hand on her shoulder, causing her to look up at you.
"Amethyst, I care about you. It's all okay now, I'm here. I care about you so, so much, man." you let your sad friend know, giving her another heart-felt hug. Amethyst's eyes got this look. A look you had never seen before yourself.
"You know what's really messed up?" she asked you, voice cracking. You raised an eyebrows and wiped one of her tears away.
"What?" you replied quietly.
"She's my own sister. I love her t-to death, despite all that she's done to me. I watched her practically turn into a monster before my eyes, back a while ago, when Steven was like, o-only thirteen or fourteen... I felt so bad that he had to see such a terrible thing." Amethyst started to cry again. You tried comforting her, which helped out a little.
"Hey, don't worry. I'll never treat you like that." you assured her. Amethyst smiled and sniffed.
