Inspired by "The Mask" written by Kasi
This mask I wear is
Not an easy one.
But it's beautiful and it gets the job
Done by fooling everyone.
With a smile plastered on
And a positive attitude
It seems as though nothing can
Take me down.
Everyone foolishly believes
That I'm all right,
That I don't need help
Up there.
When I get home and see that
I'm alone I let the tears pour
Down my face like a waterfall
Cascading off a cliff's edge.
I eventually fall asleep and wake
Up the next day
Just to have to put the
Mask on again.
As much as my mind wants
To me keep the mask I follow
My heart and hope that one
Day it will be gone
It'll be a hard battle
But I hope that I'll be able
To show my true face to the world
One day.
