<Chapter 1>
VROOOOM!!! VROOOM!! The sound of my mom starting her truck gave my stomachs butterfly's. I don't think I live without her for two months! Why does she have to go?! Why does she have to work for the government?!
"Do you really have to go?" I asked as she put her last bag in the bag in the back seat.
" Lily, we've been over this time and time again. It won't be that long! If you have fun time goes by faster! "
I sighed as she gave me a hug. I never wanted to let go of her, it's like we were frozen in time, atleast I wish we were.
" You'll be fine." She said, but there was something in here voice that said I wasn't going to be fine. Something said she didn't want to go either. It was all so odd.
It's never been just me and dad but I guess I could finally get to know him better now! Just Lily and Dad! That didn't sound right.... it was always Lily and Mom!! What if this changes everything? Stop doing that again! You overthink everything Lily....
"I love you," she said as she got behind the wheel.
I know she did, she always had and always will. " I love you too." I said as she drove away down our driveway.
There it was... the silence. I hated it! there was always that moment when time stood still. But I ignored it and went on inside. Dad had been standing by the doorway waiting for me. There was that awkward silence again. I wish it would leave me alone! But where I was headed it only got worse!
