<Chapter 6>

Right there at least 30 yards in front of me was my cousin Roxie. Roxie was on my moms side and she was here meeting with my dad what was this all about?!

They both walked inside some building and then I realized it was an apartment building. Why would he choose to meet her at an apartment building? Wow dad, real classy. I thought to myself.

I trailed behind him peeking around each corner making sure they didn't see me when they finally stopped at room 144. I dropped down on all fours and tried to see inside the door. When I didn't see their feet I figured that they had gone into a different room. so I took out the screw driver and shoved it in the lock. This was actually awesome because it worked! Honestly I don't think it would work!

When I got in I scanned the room. it was very dull looking and had a couple couch's in the corner and there was a room to the left.

When I heard the door opening to the room I hid behind a couch.

My dad had dragged a chair into the middle of the room. Only one thing... Roxie was tied to the chair! I quietly listened to them.

"Where is it Roxie? I don't want to have to beat it put of you." He said very calmly

As I got a better look at her I saw she had a black eye. Did my dad do that to her?

"I'll never tell you! You don't deserve to know! I told her I would keep it a secret!" She said trying to catch her breath. "And I never break a promise."

" There's a first for everyone." he said

I thought I heard her say "not for me" but I couldn't hear.

I thought she was going to give in but she didn't. what secret was she trying to keep? Was it really worth her going through that much pain?

"Fine." he said " I warned you."

Next thing I knew his hand collided with her face.
