CH.6 The Big "Plan"

Shado POV

I wake up to a rock hitting my arm.
Psssst
I hear whispers from the cage across from me.

I flutter my eyes open to the all to familiar grey cement roof.

"Morning sleepy. Or... I am assuming it is." Kri says chirpish.

That's another thing I miss. A sleeping schedule. Knowing what time of the day it is. We don't see the stars Sun or moon. We see each other in cages and guards for at least four times a week to empty out our buckets of pee and dung and to give food.

"Do you miss it?" I ask Kri with a shallow sigh.

I turn my head torwards her.
"Miss what?" She asks full of curiosity.
I shrug. What was I missing?
My mouth opens to give out an answer I belived believed was true.
"People. The sun. Stars. Music?"

It took her a while to answer, but when she did she sounded a bit sad.
"Everyday." She responds. "Who wouldnt?"

We stare in space for five minutes. But we have each other signals to get up and prepared. I grab my baby boy and hold on to him. Then I hear Kri to someone somehow in her mind. Like she did the first time before the plan. She did this to contact with her friends.

"Okay. We are cells RU and GS. Below ground."

She must have heard a response but I couldnt.

"Okay. Thanks Donnie."

She seems to have hung up (mentally).

"Donnie?"

"One of the friends." She says in response.

Our usual guard who is in New uniform comes with a cart big enough to carry two comes.

It open the cages and stares at Kri.

Both Kri and the guard give each other hugs.
"Thanks Ralph. I missed you so much. I'm sorry that when the last time we saw each other I-"

She was cut off.

"Don't worry. Now get in the cart. You'll be hidden if you put this cloak on. Be quiet."

He "Raph" tells us both.

We do as we were told. Hide under the cloak without any further conversation.
Someone was already in there. Reeve!!

"I'm going to kill whoever is responsible for this" Raph growls out of anger.

"Griz and Reeve is on the top floor. Two lefts and a right. They are keeping her in a experimentation lab. For her special abilities."

"It's a risk but she is a friend."I say

"They are people to help in one of our attempted escapes. Call em  friends."

"Raph knows them." Kri responds.

"Oh."

The elevator beeps in responce of the top floor.

Two lefts and a right.

Almost there.
"HEY!" someone yells making me jump.

"That's the imposter! After him!" Before we knew it the cart we are in runs faster making my adrenaline rush.

The cart comes to a stop.
"Get off the cart. We need to run. All of us. Show me where Griz is."
Raph says. Kri nods as all of us go to the metal door.

As I was about to open the door I feel as if it is coming close to me.
BANG!
A horse stomps on the door as I climb on and grab Kri on top as well. Raph yells "I'll hold em off! You guys get out of here!" Kri was hesitant with her answer but nods as in trust of him.
My baby cries due to the noise. He is only two after all.
"Go Griz!" Reeve yells. "I don't need orders" Griz sounds irritated. She doesn't seem to like being riden on. But now we leave her no choice. We are not fast enough. I haven't exactly been out and exercising. But I doubt Griz has been either.

We come to a stop where there is a window with a fire escape right outside. Griz turns back to her human shift. "Let's go!"

Kri breaks the window for a faster resort and jumps out of the window; onto the fire escape.

She lends me her hand right after, wanting me to come with her.
"Run! I trust Raph will be fine. He fights these type of guys with his brothers all the time."
She gives me a reasuring look. I take her hand and go down the fire escape, trusting Kri.

"We need to find a manhole! Quick!" Kri yells

My eyes scan the floors I haven't seen in a while.

"I think I see one right there." I point out to across the street, into another alleyway.

Before I know it we race to across the street, knowing there is a slight chance of getting caught.

Reeve unexpectedly opens the manhole and sends out a hand jesture, suggesting I jump down.

"Wait. What? You-"

I've been caught off guard with a push down the manhole.

I land on my back with a loud thud and splash of a gross liquid.

I cover my nose from the stench that burned so much. My eyes water and I want to gag.

Kri landed on her feet following Griz and Reeve with my baby in her hands.
Griz hands me my baby.
"You shouldn't have asked, next time just jump."
They both walk off the same direction. I stand there hesitantly. Should I Follow?

I do so. I have no where to go and these mutants/shifter seem to know what they are doing.

I shrug and walk off. Following them without a second thought.
