Naruto was dropped off in silence. He didn't look at Sasuke, he didn't say 'goodbye', he left with another harsh door slam and Sasuke couldn't get away quicker. Naruto's silence hurt more than Sasuke would ever admit. He dropped Naruto off around two in the morning on a Monday. His car was filled with empty silence but that detail wasn't much different from before.

He drove around aimlessly for about an hour before settling on sitting in his car in an empty Taco Bell parking lot. Once parked, Sasuke took a deep breath and exhaled while running a hand through his dark locks.

"I just ruined Naruto's life," He realized, snapping his eyes shut. He felt an awkward heaviness to his shoulders and a gnawing in his stomach that he knew he couldn't satisfied by food. The feeling felt weird and foreign and Sasuke couldn't even understand what it meant; it left him with shaky breath and a feeling of emptiness that was tantalizing.

Pulling out his phone and scrolling through his very short page of contacts, he tapped the name of his makeshift 'best friend' and pressed the phone to his ear. It went straight to voicemail. Sasuke sighed in annoyance before calling again. This time, it dialed exactly three times before a groggy voice picked up.

"Yes, your highness?" Suigetsu answered.

"I'm picking you up."

"It's like-" Sasuke didn't wait for a reply, ending the call and driving out of the parking lot.

Suigetsu was sitting on the front steps of his small, white house in the rougher part of the city that he shared with his older brother, wearing a purple tye-dye hoodie and white jeans. He stood up with an annoyed expression painted over his copper-lit face and stomped over to Sasuke's car, sliding in the passengers seat and slamming the door shut.

"You do realize it's like... I don't know... three in the morning," Suigetsu pointed out, not bothering to put his seatbelt on. Sasuke didn't say a reply as they drove off into the early morning light.

Suigetsu turned to his friend, frowning as he observed him with violet eyes. His eyes eventually stuck to his neck that looked as if it had been recently mauled and bruises that were fading on his lips. He rose an eyebrow.

"Wait..." His eyes squinted at the Uchiha, leaning over to what was a normal occurrence between them and brushed his neck with gentle fingers before his eyes widened in surprise and a soft gasp escaped his lips. Suigetsu instantly retracted his fingers like he had been scorned.

"You mated."

"Hn."

Suigetsu let out a groan, "You know, I always thought that you'd pick me over someone like Karin," He complained, smelling the Uzumaki blood all over him with his enhanced senses. Sasuke could hear the disappointment in his voice.
