Eyes are the windows to the soul.
Werecats have the ability to read a person's soul just by looking into their eyes. This clearly wouldn't work on vampires.
The werecat would see the person's values, greatest fears, things they love and their personality.
However to do so they must know what to look for and maintain eye contact.
