This chapter is a little boring, but I need to get it out of the way. The rest of the story is better. :)
THIRD PERSON POV
Chiron made an announcement at the camp fire that night, one that surprised and confused the campers.
"There are other youngsters out there like you, yet very different. They are mortals, but with magic. Long ago, Hecate blessed four people with magic, which spread throughout others, and today there are many, many of them out there."
Many campers were saying how confused they were and what Chiron means, but he silenced them.
"They are wizards. They don't face your problem of monsters being attracted to them all the time, so there are Wizards and Witches of all ages. We have decided to open the idea of an alliance. They themselves have just come out of a war, and think if we could work together, conflicts that arise could have better outcomes with the extra help and support."
"So how are we deciding if we should form an alliance?" Annabeth asks.
"I'm glad you asked. We think the best way to determine whether this is a good idea is to see how well wizards and demigods can get along. Therefore, we will be sending a group of you to Hogwarts, a well-known school for wizards."
Quite a few campers laughed at the name, though some tried to hold it in. "Hogwarts?" Leo laughed.
Chiron silenced everyone. "We need to decide who is going to Hogwarts. Any ideas?"
The campers starting yelling out names, two of the first being "Percy" and "Annabeth".
"Quiet! Quiet!" Chiron yelled. He sighed. Why did he think making the entire camp decide was a good thing? "I want all the councelors in the Big House."
Time skip.
"I think Annabeth should go." One counselor says, and others agree.
"If she goes, I go with her," Percy says protectively, and Annabeth nods in agreement.
"So Percy and Annabeth?" Chiron asks, looking at every counselor. No one disagrees. He writes their names down.
"I think we should contact Camp Jupiter, and see about Hazel and Frank. We need some Roman demigods. If the wizards ally themselves with us, New Rome will probably be part of the alliance," Annabeth thinks aloud. "I would ask Reyna, but she's a busy person being a praetor. Also, Hazel has a connection to Hecate."
"Good idea, Annabeth. Who else?"
Time skip.
After a while, it was decided just to send the seven, plus a few other campers. Camp Jupiter agreed to send Hazel and Frank. Someone came up with the idea of Nico going. They said he could sneak around and "be like our little spy". That someone was, of course, Leo. Nico is going, though not for that particular reason. Leo is going because he really wants to go. The Stolls volunteer to go.
Naturally, Chiron is uncertain. Why wouldn't he be? They want an alliance, not a prank war! But the seven decide they like the idea of the Stoll brothers going with. It'd be fun! Well, mostly for the Stolls. They were definitely planning on having fun.
"So far, we have children of Athena, Poseidon, Hades, Hephaestus, Zeus, Aphrodite, Pluto, Mars, and Hermes. I'm thinking we need a couple more campers than ten." They answer with murmurs of agreement.
The final group ends up being: the seven, Nico, the Stoll brothers, Clarisse, Will Solace, and Thalia. Someone brought up the prospect of having a Hunter of Artemis go along, so Thalia is to report to her every so often. Thirteen demigods seemed like an OK number.
"You will find what you need back in your cabins. We leave in the morning, make sure you're packed and ready." With that, all the demigods return to their cabins.
Time skip (last one)
Percy POV
Back in my cabin, I find a blue shoulder bag with my name sewed into it in green lettering. I instantly grin at the color choice. I pick it up and study it for about two seconds before reaching inside. All I pull out is a book called "Guide to the Wizarding World" and a huge satchel of coins, along with packets of ambrosia and nectar. The strange part is that when I put it back in the bag, the bag feels empty.
Oh well. Annabeth will help me tomorrow, like the awesome girlfriend she is. I smile at the thought. Maybe Hecate put magic on the bag? I crawl into bed. I'll pack tomorrow.
In the morning, as much as I don't want to, I get up early. I didn't pack last night, so I do it now. I regret that decision deeply. I could've packed last night and slept in a little today, but nooo.
After packing, we all grab something to eat at the pavilion and meet Chiron at the Big House. He explains something about Hecate transporting us there and an alley and buying stuff and a train.... I only caught things here and there because of how tired I was. I mean it isn't my fault I didn't pack last night.... I was too tired. Can I blame Hypnos?
The next thing I know, Annabeth is grabbing my hand, and everything disappears for a second, before we reappear in an alley.
What the heck did I miss in that conversation?
