Every night he kissed her bruises and called them beautiful.

Rosalina woke up to her neighbors fighting again. She shook her head at their words before pushing away the covers and running a hand threw her long light brown hair. That was a strange dream She though with a small scowl on her face.

"Work", "Work!" She yelled to herself as she jumped up and ran over to her closet before speed changing into her work uniform. She ran her hands down her messy hair as she pulled on her highs and ran out the door.

Rosalina swore under her breath before trying to run down the street in heel highs. Keyword - Trying. After almost falling on her face about five times she finally got to the shifty looking restaurant. Instead of being greeted with a hello, Rosalina was greeted with a "You're late" which was coming from her boss. She nodded her head at him in a way of saying sorry before walking pass him and into the back.

"Rosa" The cook snapped at the young girl as she almost put her hand on the hot oven. Rosalina smiled at the grey haired woman before grabbing a rag and going to clean the tables.

After a few hours, maybe three or four Rosalina's boss came over to her with a scowl on his wrinkled with age face. He out a hand on the light brown haired girls shoulder before saying "Rosalina I'm sorry, but I have to cut a few people from the staff. This sadly includes you". Rosalina opened her mouth as he handed her a five dollar bill. She pushed the bill into her pocket and nodded her head again, but not really at him. He gave her a sad smile before walking over to Louis, another worker who was probably being let go of as well.

A sigh left her light pink lips as she stepped out into the cold outside world.

Her teeth were chattering away and she walked threw the cold rain. Her arms were crossed over her head in a way to slightly stop the rain. Her normally light brown hair was a much darker color and was sticking to her face. Glancing up at the sky it looked like the storm was going to that a turn for the worst so she began to speed up.

Her house was still a few blocks away and her only source of light were flickering old traffic lights. She didn't no whether to be happy or not about the walkways being empty, but when she hears the sound of an engine she starts to wish others were around.

The car that seemed to be trailing her was a red color and rather fast, so fast that it passed her in an instant splashing her with even more cold dirt water. The red color came to a halt and then slow reverses till it was right next to her. She glanced over when she heard the passenger side window roll down.

"I'm so sorry for splashing you. I thought It was to dark for anyone to be walking" The driver said as he looked at the shivering cold girl. With his good looks and fast car he had to be from the rich side and was probably just on this side of town looking for some 'fun'. He looks oddly familiar Rosalina thought as she looked over the boys brown eyes and black hair.

She nodded at him before continuing walking. He started up the car and slowly followed her.

"Do you need a ride?" He asked as she stopped once again and looked back over at him. Her smoky charcoal eyes met his coffee colored ones as she nodded her head yes. He sent her a smile before opening the car door from the drivers seat.

Then her sweet like sugar voice rang threw his car "Thank you". He smiled at her again as she leaned her head on the window and after a few minutes she feel asleep.

"Didn't your momma ever tell you to never take a ride for a stranger?"
