We got to a motel and I instantly fell asleep again. I woke up a couple hours later in the car again. It was the middle of the night. I sat up from the back seat and looked around. Sam was on the phone and Dean was driving.
"McReady. Detective McReady. Badge number 158. I've got a signal 480 in progress, I need the registered owner of a two door sedan, Michigan licence plate Mary-Frank-six-zero-three-seven. Yeah ok, just hurry." Sam said.
"Sammy relax. I'm sure it's just a nightmare." Dean said.
"Wait you had a nightmare?" I asked.
"Yeah." Sam said, clearly not paying attention.
"I mean it. Y'know, a normal, everyday, naked-in-class, nightmare. This licence plate, it won't check out. You'll see." Dean said.
"It felt different Dean. Real. Like when I dreamt about our old house. And Jessica." Sam replied.
"Yeah, that makes sense. You're dreaming about our house, your girlfriend. This guy in your dream, you ever seen him before?" I argued.
"No." Sam replied.
"No. Exactly. Why would you have premonitions about some random dude in Michigan." Dean said.
"I don't know." Sam replied.
"Me neither." Dean said. Sam's phone rang.
"Yes I'm here." Sam said.
"Jim Miller. Saginaw, Michigan. You have a street address? Got it. Thanks." Sam said and hung up.
"Checks out. How far are we?" Sam asked.
"From Saginaw? Coupla hours." Dean replied.
"Drive faster." Sam said sternly.
We drove to Saginaw, Michigan and found the Miller house. Cop cars and ambulances swarmed the house.
"Stay in the car Katie." Dean said sternly. I was too tired to argue. I saw two men carry a body bag out of the house. Sam and Dean talked to a woman for a few minutes and walked back.
"Suicide." Dean said. Sam looked upset.
"Sammy we got here as fast as we could." I said.
"Not fast enough. It doesn't make any sense man. Why would I even have these premonitions if there wasn't a chance I could stop them from happening?" Sam asked.
"We dunno but we'll figure it out." I reassured. Sam sighed.
"So what do you think killed him?" Sam asked.
"Maybe the guy just killed himself." Dean suggested.
"I'm telling you, I watched it happen. He was murdered by something Dean. I watched it trap him in the garage." Sam said.
"What was it, a spirit, poltergeist?" I asked.
"I don't know what it was. I don't know why I'm having these dreams, I don't know what the hell is happening Dean." Sam said, frustrated.
