JORIE GWEN LANCASTER

JORIE'S DAY WAS LIKE EVERY OTHER. She would get up thirty minutes before school starts, but somehow be ready in ten. She walked to school, since her house was less than one hundred feet away.

She pushed the hair out of her face, and looked down at the ground, occasionally looking up to look for Jane and the rest of her friends. She spotted the brunette's straight hair that cascaded down her back and her twin brother, Gavin.

Her day went on like the rest have been since the start of the school year. She would text Jace sometimes, just to check in and talk about their day. Every other day they would FaceTime and talk about endless amounts of random things.

Today felt different, even if it went on like a normal day. Jorie had a bug in her stomach that made her feel nervous. Jane was off today as well; Jorie could tell. The way her eyes looked at Jorie were different. Not happy, but more like she was hiding something. It wasn't a bad thing, from what Jorie could tell, but it was definitely something.

The school day finally ended, making Jorie let out a breath she had been holding. She hoped the nervous feeling would disappear after she got home, but it didn't.

Jane and Gavin usually went home with her, since they lived a good thirty minutes away and since their dad was always working, they didn't find entertainment in being home alone for hours.

Jorie noticed how Jane got a tad bit nervous as they walked up the steps to her house.

"Jane, are you alright?" Gavin asked his sister, making Jorie feel as if her intuition wasn't just suspicion. Jane nodded and smiled at a dark car that was parked on the side of the street.

"Who's here?" Jorie asked as she opened the door to her home, revealing her mom and stepdad, as they were in the kitchen, talking amongst themselves. They both glanced back at the curious teenage girl, seeing no sign of anybody unfamiliar.

"Hey, Jor! How was school?" Her mother asked, showing a huge grin on her face.

Jorie shrugged her backpack off her shoulders and set it down by the coat rack. "Same old, same old." She walked towards the table, with her friends following close behind. "Did we get a new car or something?"

Mrs. Lancaster looked at Jane and back at Jorie. "Did Jane not tell you?"

Jane's face lit up and she started making motions with her hands. Jorie's stepdad laughed at her friend's quirkiness.

"Okay, well he's upstairs," Suzanna Lancaster told her young teenage daughter. Gavin's eyebrows quirked in confusion. Jorie's eyes went wide, as she looked towards the stairs, looking back at Jane's smiling face before sprinting towards the stairs and running upstairs, Jane and Gavin following closely behind.

Jorie started looking in each room until she got to her very own and saw a familiar figure standing next to her IKEA desk. He was wearing a white snapback, a red and black flannel, with black jeans. She noticed the golden hairs peeking out of the hat as soon as she saw him.

Jorie gasped, before he turned around, a smile on his face. "Why didn't you tell me you were this cute when you were little?" He asked her, holding up a bunny picture frame with Jorie holding her favorite stuffed animal towards the camera as she smiled in the background.

He set the picture frame back down as Jorie was adjusting her mind to what she is seeing. He fully turned his body towards her as she stood there, shocked covered her face more than foundation.

Next thing they knew, a gigantic grin that was from ear to ear appeared on her face as she ran towards him and jumped on him in complete happiness. He firmly wrapped his arms around her torso, swinging her around.

"Oh my god! Why didn't you tell me you were coming, you brat!" She laughed, smacking him when he set her down. He chuckled and held her close to him, taking in her. He missed her so much.

"I wanted it to be a surprise," he scoffed, his words muffled in her hair. "I missed you."

She wrapped her arms tighter around his neck and pulled him closer. "I missed you more."

The loosened their grip around each other, before Jorie impatiently grabbed the back of his neck and put her lips on his. Their lips moved in sync. The butterflies erupted in her stomach once again. It was just as good as their first kiss. The lust and longing they had made the kiss more passionate then ever.

A clearing of the throat was heard by the door. They pulled apart and looked at Gavin and Jane, who were watching the two. Jorie and Jace's faces turned bright pink. Jane was in awe as Gavin stood awkwardly watching, starting to feel uncomfortable.

Jorie rolled her eyes at the two and turned her head back to Jace and stroked the short strands of hair that laid on the back of his neck. "Why are you here?" She asked, looking him in the eyes.

He smirked, "because a little birdie told me you find it romantic when the guy surprises the girl he's in love with."

Hearing that made her heart skip a beat.

"Jorden Gwendolyn Lancaster, I have been in love with you since I read all your stupid messages on Instagram. Sometimes, I like to think about how much of a good choice it was to message you back. Ever since then, you have made me the happiest I've been in my lifetime. Your incredibly quirky and dorky personality makes my heart melt at the thought of. I love your weirdness, your sweet personality, your random text messages I get that make me question your mental health. I love you so much, Jorie, and it would make me the happiest man on earth if you would please, please be my girlfriend," he spoke out of honesty.

She was left at a loss of words. Her heart filled up with so much love as she reached up and kissed him softly. "Of course," she answered. He felt a huge weight come off his shoulders and he pulled her in for a kiss once more.

   "I love you, Jorie."

   "I love you more, Jace."
