A Love to Last

Pagkatapos ng fair last week, my mind still hasn't been able to rest.

Gusto kong balikan ang oras na yun, the music, the rides, how the air smells and somehow it's kinda new to me. Napapatawa nalang ako, habang iniisip ko yun. Hindi ko alam na makakapunta pa rin pala ako sa fair. Pero, balik sa trabaho na ang buhay ko but today, there's a bit of an interruption..

Pumasok si Sue, sa office dala dala ang mga papers...

"Vincent, we've been getting emails from our client about you."

"About me?"

"Yes" and she hands them to Vincent carefully

"What is it? Is it bad?"

"Well, it seems silly but you have to read them yourself"

As he reads the papers, his face turns to red, I think

"Is there a problem?" I can't help but to butt in

"She's been requesting information about Vincent. The client thinks that his not..uh.....qualified?" Sue explains to me

"Why would the client thinks that? "

"Well, the client thinks that, why a young unmarried man is her editor for a romance story" Vincent explains

"What? Why would she care if he's married or not? I don't get her idea" I said

"I guess she thinks that it's unfair for someone without experience to judge her story" Vincent said

"Unbelievable"

"And how did the client know that he's not married?"

"The client asked me" Sue said

I looked at Vincent and I saw him blushing....

"Look Sue, the client is not being professional and I can't change just because the author asked me to"

"If you looked into the pages I gave you a while ago, I already started to arrange it to reassign her" Sue laughs like his teasing him and with that, she leaves the room.

"So?"

"What? It's just a picky client as usual"

"Yeah but mind if I ask you a question?"

"What is it Roxanne?"

"If you don't have enough experience why did you take this job?"

"I do have experience Roxanne. I had a girlfriend for six years but she---- we broke up a 2 years ago and I haven't been on a date since we broke up"

"Oh" yun lang nasabi ko. Nagulat ako sa narinig ko mula sa kanya. Hindi ko aakalain na yun ang nangyari sa relasyon niya.

"Uh..Vincent?"

"Hm?" at dahan dahan na tumingin siya sa akin

"What if..."

"What if ano?"

"What if uh...you and I went on a date?" at nakita ko ang pagkagulat sa mata niya at kahit ako nagulat din sa sinabi ko

"Ano?"

"Well, It's not what you think! Not like a romantic date or something.....It's just like a work date"

"Work date?"
