"I'm too young to die."
Unlike yesterday, the sunlight streaming through your window aggravated both you and your head. Good thing it was Sunday, you don't think you could handle a full school day in your condition.
"Hey Namine, would you happen to have any Advil or anything?" You mumbled. Even talking seemed to irritate your head.
"Um, I don't think so. But I know that the drug store downtown should have some. I think you left your munny pouch in your dresser."
You groaned and reluctantly got out of bed. Once you were upright, you swayed a little as a wave of nausea passed over you.
"This is going to be harder than I thought."
You slowly made your way to the bathroom to make yourself presentable. Three sharp knocks sounded from the door and you winced.
"I still have those sundresses that you got yesterday that you wanted to wear," Namine told you.
"What?"
"Huh?"
"You know, you got them right after you told us you wished you looked average so people wouldn't pay so much attention to you."
Though your brain was throbbing, you tried hard to remember when any of this happened. All you remember was going to the mall, changing into Fang's shirt, and then going to the football game.
"Uh, when exactly was that?"
"It was after you went to the bathroom for the second time." You could hear the concern in Namine's voice so you decided to play along and change the subject. That way you could try to figure out what was going on without raising any suspicion.
"Oh yeah. Anyway, who one the game yesterday?" Namine didn't seem to suspect anything because she answered enthusiastically.
"We did! There was ten seconds left on the clock and Zack scored the wining touchdown! I wish you could've seen it."
"Yeah, me too."
After changing into one of the frilly and feminine sundresses that you supposedly bought, you donned some shades, grabbed your "munny" pouch and left the building. Before you left, however, you made sure to grab Fang's t-shirt in case you saw her today.
"Good thing this dress has pockets."
The walk to downtown was torture. You alternated from feeling nausious to exhausted the whole way there. Even with your sunglasses on, the sunlight hurt your head. You were grateful that the drug store was one of the closer shops. While you wanted to keep them on, you removed your shades as you entered the store and was almost blinded by the light. Quickly, you grabbed a bottle of water and Advil and made your way to the counter up front.
"Okay, that will be three munny." You handed the change to the cashier and went back outside.
"I can't believe they accept that stuff as legal tender... Actually, I can. The economy here is just as strange as everything else."
You were glad to put your sunglasses back on as you sat down on the nearest bench. You opened the bottle of Advil with shaky hands and chased a couple of pills down with some water. The water bottle was soon empty, seeing that you were much more thirsty than you originally thought. After tossing the bottle in a recycling bin, you sat back down on the bench for awhile.
"How could I not remember what happened yesterday? And how come the things I do remember seem hazy at best? Maybe I'm coming down with something. Anyway, I should really get back to my recon mission. I still have a lot to learn about this place and the people here."
