POV: America2 weeks later:
"E-Excuse me your majesty would you like a refill on y-your tea?" I turn my head to see a maid that I've never met before. She's probably new. She looks so nervous and scared I think she must be new.
"No thank you." I say politely and I give her a warm smile. I don't like it when people especially guards and maids think I'm gonna blow or something for asking a question. It makes me feel like I've done wrong. She curtsies and dismisses herself.
I look down at my work. This is gonna be tough. I'm working on the biggest thing yet in women history for Illea, I'm trying to let women join the army. When I told Maxon this idea in a meeting room full of advisors they all laughed. I knew they thought I was idiotic, but after talking one on one to Maxon, and using my persuasion skills in talking and actions (wink wink) he agreed that women were being treated poorly. Right now I'm creating the draft for the advisors to look over on Wednesday during the meeting and hopefully if all goes well in about six months women born and raised in Illea will be able to serve their country with pride.
Just as I got on a role with my work an alarm blares so loud I jump. It scares me terribly but I know the way to the safe room. I know I will be okay. As I'm trying to gather my work that needs to remain confidential all of my papers fall. Great. I scramble to pick it all up and once I have it all and I get up I feel a rough pull on my shoulder forcing me to turn. An arm pulls me roughly causing bruises I'm sure and I scramble out of his arms I turn to see his face.
It clearly hasn't been washed in days with all the dirt that almost looks engraved all over his skin. His dirty appearance makes him look fifty but I'm sure if he was clean he would be much much younger.
A shot goes off and the jerking on my arm stops and he falls to the ground dragging me with him. Trembling with the sudden movement I turn to look and see what caused him to fall. I see a bullet through his head. I scream. I'm laying on someone with a bullet through their head. I feel wheezy.
The worst part is that I was so busy thinking about how he was dead to realize that someone shot him in this room, which meant they were probably still here. I moved my head so silently and looked around the room trying to see where the gunman went. I see shoes. A guards shoes. I quickly get up and see Aspen. He get me in his hold and runs me into the passageway for the safe room. He pushes me in and closes the door not bothering to say anything.
I walk down the dark hall until I can see a little light. That's when I know Maxon's close. I keep walking and then I feel arms around me holding tightly. I smell his cologne and I ravish in his hold. He buries his head into my neck and into my hair and inhales my scent.
"I was so worried." He mumbles squeezing his hold on me. I sigh I was so worried about him.
"I'm so glad your safe." I say quietly for only his ears. He mumbles more meaningful words to me and he decides to sit on the floor because there aren't any chairs in here. He tugs me onto his lap so I'm straddling his waist. We continue to hold each-other for hours until we settle on a cot together. His arms around me and I'm finally safe with no worries. Please vote I want to know if I'm doing this right comment on my mistakes or criticize I really don't care just show you're presence. Also yumna-139 gave me this idea for the rebel attack so thank you and I'm gonna continue this idea and if anyone has other ideas of where this could go comment and I'll try to make it worth while.
