Weeks, if not months had passed since Bokuto first met Akaashi and even he himself had to admit - he was changing.
Akaashi was a complete opposite of Bokuto. He was calm and collected, he loved communicating with people and showing a good example to children. It's all thanks to Akaashi that the kingdom became a brighter place to live in.
"Bokuto, how long are you gonna sit here?" Konoha asked as he walked into one of the secret rooms.
"Long enough" Bokuto pouted. "Akaashi left early in the morning again, I want him to spend time with me"
"You're clingy, Akaashi-san doesn't like that. Why are you so obsessed with him anyway? I understood it when you didn't leave him alone at first, but he has been here for some time, so why do you keep sticking to him?" Konoha asked, he had his suspicions.
"I don't know. Akaashi makes me happy and when he's not around I'm gloomy.. I really don't know, Konoha" Bokuto sighed as he stood up.
"Well, try to answer that question yourself, maybe you'll find an answer. Now, let's get going. Akaashi-san has come back, I came here to tell you that originally" Konoha said and started walking out of the room, but Bokuto rushed out of the room first.
He ran through the halls till he reached the main one. And there he was.
Akaashi was wearing his usual clothes with a silver-dark green color scheme. He resembled a king more than Bokuto did, even his posture looked noble.
"Akaashi! You should have told me you would leave early!" Bokuto said as he caught his breath.
"Oh, Bokuto, sorry about that. I promised to meet up with the owner of the local bakery early in the morning" Akaashi gave Bokuto a small smile. At that moment Bokuto felt something in his stomach again.
"Well, tell me next time. I'll come with you.. Now, are you busy?" Bokuto asked. He wanted to spend some time with Akaashi alone, it had been a while since they hung out together.
"Of course I am. Do you perhaps want to go somewhere?" Akaashi turned to him, he was wearing a bracelet with green emeralds that was given to him as a present from Bokuto.
"You're reading my mind. Let's head out before it gets dark" Bokuto smiled and watched as Akaashi walked closer to him. His heart immediately started beating faster, Akaashi was even more beautiful up close. He seemed so flawless.
Konoha watched as Bokuto's behaviour changed from being gloomy to happy and excited. Akaashi was really doing wonders.
"Where do you want to go? I'm pretty sure we have explored the whole town already" Akaashi chuckled.
"Well, there is one place where you haven't been yet, I've been keeping it as a secret. No one apart from me is allowed there" Bokuto started walking towards the forest.
"Even during day time the forest is really dark and timid, are you sure we should go there?" Akaashi couldn't help but worry.
"Don't worry, I know where to go" Bokuto grabbed Akaashi's hand and started leading him somewhere.
The forest looked pretty dead at first. The ground was covered in old pine needles, sometimes Akaashi wished that he could sit down on the grass in the forest and think about things, too bad grass did not seem to grow in this forest.
That was one of the things he missed the most. The green horizons and blooming flowers, exotic birds and beautiful cherry blossoms.
It wasn't around ten minutes later that Akaashi's eyes spotted something, in the darkness of the forest his eyes caught something bright.
"Close your eyes" Bokuto said and Akaashi did as he said. Their pace got slower as Bokuto carefully led Akaashi to the place. Soon he couldn't feel the pine needles under his feet anymore, just something soft.
And the smell... The air was fresher and more inviting.
"Okay, open them" Bokuto said and Akaashi opened his eyes. He felt his heart stop for a moment, the view he missed so much was in front of him.
In a middle of a dark forest sat a small, bright-blue lake. The area around was covered in vibrant green grass, tiny yellow flowers were scattered all around.
"I found this place when I was little. I used to spend hours here. It's completely different from anything else in this kingdom.. I thought that maybe you would like to spend time here, relax.." Bokuto spoke.
"It's beautiful here... Thank you, Bokuto" Akaashi turned to him and smiled brightly.
"Now you know this place, feel free to come here any time. No one else is allowed to come here, so don't worry" Bokuto smiled as well. Seeing Akaashi this happy made him feel something again.
"This place is amazing, really. I would like to spend time here with you though, this area is perfect for soul healing" Akaashi looked around again.
"Hey Akaashi... I don't know why, but I've been feeling weird lately. Maybe you feel it too, but there is this feeling in my stomach whenever we're together.." Bokuto finally said. Akaashi turned to him, he was a bit shocked at Bokuto's sudden confession.
"And you have no clue what it is?" Akaashi asked as walked closer to him.
"No, that's why I wanted to ask of yo--" Bokuto was cut off when Akaashi leaned in a pressed his lips against Bokuto's.
