Chapter 9

"Wake up Hailee!" Cameron's annoying voice floated through the air, shattering my dream. I groaned and snuggled deeper into my duvet, stuffing my face in the pillow.

"WAKE UP!" he screeched in my ear, causing me to shoot up from my bed.

"Ugh! I hate you Cameron!" I whined, sitting up and rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

"Aw, don't be mad little sis," he cooed and pinched my cheek. I slapped his hand away and huffed.

"How many times have I told you not to disturb me while sleeping or eating?" I asked and glared at him.

"Probably a million times," he answered with a cheeky smile. I shook my head and went into the bathroom, taking my clothes with me, while Cameron lay down on the bed, scrolling through something on his mobile. I was greeted by Mother Nature who had decided to come by and pay me a visit, making me groan in annoyance. After doing my morning business and attending to Mother Nature's needs, I got out of the shower and dried myself with my fluffy white towel and wore my undergarments. Dressing myself in a flannel dress, I did my hair and put on my eyeliner, mascara and lip-gloss.

Walking out of the bathroom, I was surprised to see Cam still laying on my bed, a goofy smile on his face as he stared at my phone screen.

"What's got you so happy?" I asked, picking up my bag from my desk.

"Nothing. Just Rose," he replied and got up, locking his phone and running a hand through his hair. Suddenly, an idea popped into my head and I stood up on my bed, right behind Cam, who was oblivious to my actions.

Just as he was about to walk towards the door, I jumped on his back and wrapped my arms around his neck and legs around his waist. Instinctively, his hands went to my legs, holding me up.

"Give me a piggyback ride down to the kitchen, Cam," I said.

"Why would I do that?" He asked, turning around to face me, his eyes holding amusement.

"My legs hurt," I whined.

"Mother Nature?" he asked, realization dawning on him.

"Mother Nature." I confirmed and he sighed.

"Okay, but just because I know how you can get during these days," he said and started carrying me down muttering, "Her mood swings can kill a man."

"I'm so hungry," I whined as me, Jasper and Asher walked out of Calculus and made our way towards the cafeteria.

"When are you not?" Jasper asked, causing Asher to snort and me to give him a glare.

Reaching the cafeteria, we walked to our table and took our seats. I pulled out my nutella sandwich and started munching on it.

"Hey H," Em said, grinning at me. "What you got there?"

"Nutella sandwich," I replied, taking a huge bite out of the said sandwich.

"Guys, Matt's throwing a party this Friday," Rose said, looking up from her phone screen. "Oh, hey Hails," she said.

"Hi," I said and gave her a two fingered salute.

"So, what do you guys think?" Rose asked, looking at all of us.

"We should totally go to this party," Cam said, grinning.

"Yeah, Matt's parties are legendary!" Jasper added.

"Sure, let's go," Asher shrugged.

"I'm in!" Em said, clapping her hands.

"What about Noah and Mason?" Rose asked. The two idiots hadn't come to school today, which was because they were planning an 'epic' prank for Friday, which was the prank day of our school.
