the both of us fell back a little from the group, letting them walk a few feet ahead of us before jacob intertwined our fingers.
"hi jacob." i mumbled, blushing and smiling to myself.
a quick kiss was pressed to my cheek before he mumbled a hello back and walked just a little closer to me so our sides brushed as we walked.
"do you want to do something after school today? just me and you?" he asked quietly, not letting the others hear.
i hesitated, before shaking my head and coming up with an excuse.
"i.. can't today i have a family thing." i lied.
"what kind of family thing?" he asked, sounding confused.
"just a family thing."
