Chapter 7

Shoot! I'm sorry I went back on my word. (God, why do I do this?) Well, now that it's summer, hopefully I can write more often. That is if the sun won't kill me yet. Anyway, enjoy.

I pulled away immediately. Then he saluted and ran off into the crowd. I, on the other hand was in awe because, it's a secret, but that was my first kiss. Gotta forget about this. So I went out into the crowd to see what was going on 'til I got another hand on my wrist. I turned to look, and there, miraculously it was Kazuo and Clara!

"Chiyo-san!" Kazou announced. "We've been looking all over for you! What happened?"

"I'll explain later. But what's happening over there?" I asked.

"Oh! I think the king of this kingdom is passing through here." Kazuo explained.

Then we both watched the carriage pass by 'til we both saw the carriage stop before us. And the king appeared in front of us.

Then a soldier said,"Um, excuse me sir and miss? Could you come with me for a few moments?" the soldier asked.

"Why would you need us for?" Kazuo asked back.

"The king would like to see you." he pointed to the carriage.

And there, the king appeared before us.

"My, young man, you'd make such a fine husband for my sweet Miyuki." he announced. "Would you mind to come along with me to meet my dear, sweet Miyuki?" he asked.

I started thinking this was some kind of trick. But then again, Kazuo is quite popular and all plus it might be rude to say no to royalty.

"We'd love to join you." I cut into the conversation.

"Ahh. How wonderful. Now come, come. We shall be on our way." the king lead us to the carriage and headed off to the castle.

This was quite exciting and scary, heading to a castle. First of all, Kazuo and I looked like aliens from a different planet. Second, what in the world should we do in front of royalty anyway? Be polite, kind, and graceful? Wait, that's for the royalty to act! I don't know anymore!

As we started to pull into the castle grounds, I could just tell that the craftsmanship to create this entire place must have taken ages to build. I, in awe, got kind of left behind.

I got entirely lost inside the castle. But I swear, every room I went into was even better than the one before. But it was big, too big. I went on exploring until I bumped into a young man.

"Oohf" He said.

"Sorry about that." then I said, "Don't worry about it." he smiled and asked, "Are you lost? Oh wait! Were you with that man and the king?" he asked.

"Yes I was. I'm a bit lost, could you please help me get back to them?"

"Sure. Right this way." He lead.

We did end up finding Kazuo and the king, but they were talking to the princess. When I went ahead to Kazuo, the man who had helped me, disappeared from my sight and I couldn't find him. Where had he gone off to? I really wanted to say thanks. Oh well, I'll have to say that when we meet again.

The king noticed me but gave a quick sight of disgust at me. Probably because I was in rags and was a commoner while Kazuo could possibly be a bachelor (available for marriage) for the princess.

"William! Please get these two a good wash and a new clothing, immediately!" the king shouted.

"Yes, your highness." William answered and quickly send us to get cleaned.

I quickly took a glimpse at the princess Miyuki. My, she was beautiful, but she didn't seem so happy when she saw me. Did I make her upset? I bet it was probably because she might have thought me and Kazuo were together, or maybe I was someone who was in love with him, or maybe she might even think I was going to ruin her chances with her and Kazuo! No! That can't be true! Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions. But I know for sure, the princess isn't too happy to see me in her future plans of love.
