Chapter 18: Trying to Make Things Right

I saw Jax at the table with his mom. I mentally groaned cause I'm upset and angry. He looked up and saw me. His face softens a bit. I froze where I was, then I saw Thomas run to me. I smile and pick him up.

"Hi mommy."

"Hi baby."

"I missed you so much."

"I missed you too. Where's Abel?"

"In there." He says pointing to the living room.

I nod and I walk to the living room where I saw Abel on the couch. He saw me and smiles.

"Hey Austin."

"Hey Abel. Do you know why your daddy is here?"

"He came over looking for you and decided to stay."

"Oh. Well I don't want to see him right now."

"Why?"

"He broke a promise and I don't want to see him."

"How did he do that?"

"You won't understand honey."

"Please Austin." He says.

"I don't think that your dad loves me anymore Abel." I say quiet enough for him to hear.

"Oh Austin. What did he do?"

"He made love to another woman bud and I don't think that I can forgive him for it yet."

"How many times do I have to say that I'm sorry Austin." His voice says.

I look and I see Jax standing in the doorway.

"Go see grandma." I say as I put Thomas down.

The boys nod and they go to Gemma. I smile softly only to realize that Jax and I were alone. He closes the sliding doors that separate the living room from the dining room. We were a few good feet away from each other. I was close to tears. I can't deal with this anymore.

"I can't forgive you Jax."

"Why not Austin?"

"You know why Jax."

"Just cause I was with Wendy."

"So that's the bitch's name." I said with venom dripping from my voice.

"What do you have against her?"

"Oh just the fact that my future husband was fucking her when he was supposed to be with me and his two sons at the damn park!" I said raising my voice.

"I never meant for that to happen Austin."

"Then tell me exactly what did!"

"I was supposed to be getting ready to come to the park with you and the boys but as I was getting ready she just showed up. Then she just comes in and kisses me. Trust me when I say that I was trying to pull away, but she held me there and next thing I know we are in the bedroom doing that." He says softly. 

I just stand there. I wasn't sure what I should say to him. Considering that he just explained himself. I don't know what I should do. He comes over to me and places his hands on my waist.

"Please Austin, forgive me. I didn't mean for this to happen."

"I can't do this Jax."

"Why not."

"My parent called the whole arranged marriage off."

"What, why?"

"You know why Jax. We're nothing more than two people who were living with each other."

"Please Austin let me prove that I can care about you and love you."

"You can't prove it Jax. Until you do this," I motion between us. "Is over. Goodbye Jax."

I got out of his hold on me. Then I go and say goodbye to Thomas and Abel promising them I'll visit soon. That was the last time I talked to Jax or his family.
