Tris's hand softly fell repetedly onto the metal door. Her other one was hovering over her chest. She turned and looked back at us quickly- then she let out a short breath.

Nervousness

was

overriding

our

Dauntlessness.

We were letting the weakness take over. "Stop it," I thought to myself, "Be strong, for yourself. Don't worry about anyone else right now. That's just Abnegation-like. Idiotic."

I jumped a little and bumped into Uriah when I heard noise comming from the other side of the door which seperated our fate from us.

"Yeah?" A groggy voice asked as the door slid open.

His eyes largened and he stumbled back. "Tris," he half whispered.

"Caleb," Four winced. "You're looking worse than I expected."

The dim light of a lamp shone against his face. His eyes were shadowed, and his cheeks were sunken. His hair looked like a matted mess that hadn't been touched for weeks.

"W-what.... what is the meaning of this?" Caleb quickly brought up.

Tris bit down on her lip. "I want... no. We want, your help. You owe it to me," she said.

"Help?" he repeated. "From me?"

"Unfortunately that is what this has come to," Uriah sighed tirelessly.

"Please take this matter seriously," I stated. "We wouldn't have come here if this wasn't needed. We would have rather left you in your dying state."

"Dying..." Caleb muttered.

"Looks like he's been anti-social for way too long," Uriah muttered to me quietly.

Caleb smirked and he looked handsome in a dark sort of way, cast against the light. His lips parted and he started to laugh. He laughed, and yet his face looked horrified.

Horrified of what?

Did he think we were going to kill him?

Had he gone insane?

"Caleb... you're scaring me..." Triss said quietly. "What're you doing?"

Caleb looked at us each indevidually, then turned towards me and glared into my eyes. With a chaotic tone he muttered, "That's the thing though... That's been my problem... ALL THESE YEARS. They will have been a waste. My life is a waste... I AM, in fact, dying."
