My hunger was growing, and I was still tied up. Dempsey was carrying me to the portal that had just opened up moments ago. Blacking out from hunger, I soon awoke in Dempsey's arms. We were high in the sky, and we were falling fast. Looking around, I saw dragons. "What the hell..?!" I yelled, Dempsey holding me tighter. I squeezed my eyes closed, hiding my face in the soldier's chest to shield myself from the cold wind rushing by. Suddenly, I heard a parashoot open up and we were slowly falling to the ground. I looked down, seeing the mass destruction that had hit what seemed to be Stalingrad. There was a giant robot killing zombies. We were headed right for it. I held onto Dempsey as tight as I could.

Once on the ground, the mech started shooting at us, causing us to take cover. I didn't get a good look of who was controlling it, but it looked like Nikolai, the older version I was once friends with; my old drinking buddy. It kinda hurt a bit, seeing him attacking us. He soon got carried away by a dragon. We stood and looked around. My hands still tied, I was forced to sit back while the guys killed zombies. This was boring and getting on my nerves. "Can I fight off the zombies with you guys? This is fucking boring, just sitting here." I watched them. "Not a chance. You'll try to kill yourself again." Dempsey said, putting up barriers. I sighed in frustration. Richtofen narrowed his eyes towards the soldier and walked over to me, untying me. "Thanks, Doc." I rubbed my wrists as he nodded. "Damnit, Richtofen.." Dempsey sighed and handed me a gun. "What? You don't trust me?" I narrowed my eyes at the soldier as he replied, "It's not that I don't trust you. It's that I'm worried about you." I smiled a bit. "I'm fine, Dempsey. I promise." I grabbed the soldier's hand as he calmed down. "I trust you, Azalea." He said softly as another horde rushed in.

This horde shocked me. I wasn't prepared for them to run at me. I was taken down once, but I had some help from Takeo. Helping me up, he asked, "Are you alright?" I nodded. "I'm fine. Just caught off guard." I confessed, dusting myself off. Nikolai, Dempsey, and Richtofen ran to me. "What was all that about?" Dempsey asked as Richtofen made sure I was okay. "I don't know. I was protecting you guys, and next thing I knew, zombies started attacking me." I explained. "Have you had any other those hungry thoughts of yours?" Richtofen asked. I shook my head, "No, Doc, not since you untied me earlier." The German's face lit up in joy. I guess I doubted him too much. "It worked!" He yelled in excitement before hugging me. I giggled a bit and hugged back.

My stomach soon started to rumble. I didn't feel well at all. My legs felt weak, and I struggled to stand. Dempsey and Nikolai held me up. "You alright, Azalea?" Dempsey asked. I nodded. "Yeah.. I-I'm fine.. Don't worry about me.." my voice trailed off as I felt the sudden urge to throw up. Running and stumbling to the nearest wall of sandbags, I squeezed my eyes shut as I threw up. I was sweating like I was literally standing next to lava, or in Hell. I felt someone rubbing my back. I recognized the hand, and it belonged to Dempsey. Throwing up once more, I heard the soldier growl and run in the other direction. I could hear him yelling, but I couldn't make out what he was saying. The only thing I made out was "blood." Opening my eyes, I saw what I had been throwing up. Blood. Worried, I looked over at what seemed to be Dempsey and Richtofen fighting. Punches were being thrown and one was knocking the other to the ground. Making my way to the two men as quickly as I could, I screamed as loud as my body would let me. "STOP IT!" This caused the two to stop fighting. Everything was blurry, and I couldn't tell who was who. I felt tears staining my cheeks. "Azalea..." I heard Richtofen say as I wiped the blood from my mouth. "You three, do what you need to do to get us the hell outta here. I'll stay here and make sure Azalea is okay." I heard Dempsey say as he held me close. My body hurt, my head was killing me, my arms throbbed. I felt my legs give out from under me, causing Dempsey to fall to the ground with me. "I'm sorry..." I mumbled. "It's not your fault, Azalea.. We'll fix this." He vowed and held me close to him as I felt my eyes close.

I awoke still in Dempsey's arms, but we seemed to be in a dark place. I felt his hand graze my cheek. "It's alright, Azalea.." He mumbled. I looked down at my hands. I couldn't even see them, even if I put them right in front of my face. Tears formed in my eyes. I didn't bother speaking at all. My throat was killing me. "Azalea, it's going to be okay." He repeated, causing me to look at him. "It's not going to be okay..." I managed to say. He wiped the tears from my eyes before kissing me. More tears fell as I melted into the kiss. His lips tasted sweet.. I wondered what the rest of his flesh tasted like.. We pulled away from each other. My body was weak, and all I wanted to do was sleep everything away

Faint whispers flooded my head as hunger soon made its way to my stomach. My breathing sped up as my heart began to race. I was alone in the darkness. I don't want to go out like this. I don't want to hurt anyone. Rushing to the door, I banged on it. Tears streamed down my cheeks. Suddenly, I was met with a gun pointed at my head. Scared, I backed up. "Liebe? Are you alright?" I heard Richtofen ask. I shook my head, and I was pulled into a hug. I cried into the German's shoulder as he held be. Crying made my heart race even more and my breathing had gotten faster. "Hold on.. Let me find the others." He said before rushing off. I was left on the stairs, collapsing to my knees. It wasn't long until I felt the warm embrace of Dempsey's arms once again. "Doc.. can she be cured?" I heard him ask. "Since last time didn't go so well, I'm afraid not, at least not in time." Richard replied. I looked towards the doctor. "Please, Edward..." I whispered. I didn't want to go out like this. A zombie bite was not how I wanted to die. He sighed before saying, "I will try. I will also try and not make the same mistakes that caused this to happen." I felt myself smile, but it wasn't long until I was weak and tired again.
